Prototype delayed until 2009
17
It's too bad that the developers didn't mention this during Sierra's gamers day, but it seems now that the previously confirmed for Fall 08 title, Prototype, will now be getting released at some unknown date in 2009. According to the Sierra PR representative who spoke with Gamespot, the team simply needs more time to deliver the game that was originally promised. That's right folks, no delay just for co-op (at least as far as we know now). While it's always good if developers take more time to get their games absolutely perfect, only time will tell whether this will end up being a good move. Hey, if Army of Two had released in Fall 07 it would've been murdered, instead it was released in spring and saw fair sales.

But in an open sandbox style game with mutants... No co-op, no buy. That's just how I roll.

We would hope after so many developers have come across this that creating and informing prospective buyers of a delay that they would only choose to incorporate the much required and money making necessities in a game (fueled by GTA numbers). It only makes sense.
I will accept a delay and gladly await a more polished product which includes a substantial multiplayer.

Yes, hopefully this delay is so they can implement co-op.

It's probably delayed because of the PS3 version.
That sounds fitting to me

Yup. No co-op, no buy. Heck, I ain't buying nothin' these days. I just joined Gamefly. It's about $276 a year. That's 4 games purchased a year. I know I was buying a heck of a lot more than that. Buy then trade just ain't worth it anymore.
Games like Mass Effect are in my house for about 2 weeks then I get another game and so on. I actually check out two at a time.
This year, I would have purchased:
Mass Effect
Devil May Cry 4
Army of Two
The Simpsons
Condemned 2
Dark Sector
Iron Man
Assassin's Creed
...
and the list goes on. You do the math my friends!
Gamefly, I'll take a few months free for that statement.
