I was hoping that you guys would start doing these demo overviews. Great job! I really enjoyed it. Also, for a demo that came out this morning you really turned it around fast.

BTW, the demo was fun. The full game might get repetitive though and I also agree with how bad the driving parts are.

I thought the demo was ok. I thought the driving part was terrible. The hand to hand combat is a lot of fun and the shooting is alright. I don't know if I will be buying this game when it firsts comes out or even at all. I'll probably wait till some reviews come out for it and then make a decision but as of now I'm not that impressed with the game. Right now i can see this game getting ratings in the 7/10 region.

The demo was fun, but the fact that they took out Damon and tried to claim that it's based off the books is a friggin' joke. It has the exact same style and camera work as the movies, to the point where it even has some of the same voice actors and the same music from the movies.

That's a good thing, but they should've just gone all the way and never pretended they were basing it off the books to begin with.

As someone who's read the books and is a big fan of Ludlum's work as a whole, I'm interested to see what non-movie content they've drawn from. If it turns out that the game is 99% movie based, which is only about 25% of the books, then I agree with you they should have just gone all the way. If they're pulling from a bunch of different sources, then I'm excited.

As for the style, I think that the style of the movies accurately captured the feel of much of the fictional work so I wouldn't throw it out the window completely. Movie goers know what that world looks like visually and I think they were trying to tie the two audiences together.

I'm excited to see the final version.

Really well done, Xav.

Personally I was kinda disappointed to see it follows the already established movies. It's always better when they give us something new that adds to the licensed mythos rather than just having us rehash what we already know. Not having Damon's likeness makes it all the more disappointing.

I picked up the Bourne books in 1992 at a garage sale...they were written in the 60's & 70's...Great books but very dated...Seriously enjoyed the movies and this game looks just like the movies...I'll have to play this because I am a Bourne fan...besides, it looks pretty frikin' good...

I thought the demo was absolute garbage. The fight animations were pretty sick, don't get me wrong. But the controls to move around and the actual fighting to get up TO the adrenaline takedown were pretty bad. Hope Sierra does a lot better job than this.

Upon second replay, I'm finding that it's a lot easier to play it. The fighting engine is pretty sick, as is the Adrenaline fueled takedowns. Shooting could use a little tweaking and/or target select by a flick of a thumbstick(like in GTA or such). I really liked the fact that once you got your adrenaline up in gunplay situations, you could hit the B and pull a shooting takedown. That was visually impressing. Working on the driving scene now.

Second replay: Much better than the first, might actually buy this game.

I agree, the second playthrough is more fun.

I was playing on Agent the first time through, and I got my ass handed to me on the first level. I seriously probably died about 10-15 times (most of those were from missed quick time events though). Once I got used to the game, however, things seemed to go a little better.

I agree with Xav too - those bosses are ridiculously cheap. I had to use close to 10 adrenaline attacks on the airplane guy to take him down.

Okay...JUST finished the driving section. The car handles VERY well. We're talking no drift, no sliding..you point the car in that direction, it goes. Tunnel use is pretty neat, and Marie gives good audio cues to let you know wtf is coming.

All in all, I think I'll definitely be buying this game.

The title for this demo could be "Bland, Bland, Boring, Bad"

Am I the only one who thought the fighting is boring and confusing?

The title for the feature should be "Demo Deluxe"

Great review, thanks. I know Dane Cook is a gamer, but didn't know he reviewed games on X3F ;) You sound just like him!

I like the review and I hope you keep 'em coming. I'd call the spot Bourne to kick *ss or Bourne to fight. I played the demo and thought the game's camera was frustrating. It felt like trying to control a strung out hooker who just got off the Zipper fair ride. But, all-in-alll, I imagine the game cannot feel like this all the time so it may balance out. If it feels like this all the time, it may be demoted to a "rental".
