I agree Brandon, I'm thinking about getting one as well. If they release that gun-metal colored one with MGS4 I will buy it. It looks sweet and I want a blu-ray player too since my HD player isn't going to be doing much more than just up-converting my normal DVDs

... and Uncharted, Heavenly Sword, Resistance, Rock Band, Folklore, Pixel Junk Monsters, Echochrome, Everyday Shooter, Eye of Judgment, Oblivion, Burnout Paradise, PAIN, GTA4, UT3, Assassin's Creed, Warhawk, Super Stardust HD, etc. are why I've kept it. :D

That is funny because I only have a PS3 and I cant keep up with how many games are coming out. After I finish GTAIV, Im hoping to finish Assassins Creed and DMC4 before MGS4 hits, then there are the buttload of games coming out this holiday.

Yeah I also have a 360 and a Wii so I got GTA for the 360 though honestly it's not really my type of game but it's fun to play online with the cad dudes. Honestly I don't play the Wii or PS3 that much. Occasionally I'll get on Rachet & Clank and private chat a buddy via 360 while we play. I'm not really a fan of MGS games but I'll probably pick the new one up (though anyone who was in the beta will know how half-assed the multiplayer is, but it is enjoyable, what with the porn and all when you play as Snake in the sneaking gametype).

But yeah the 360 has me a bit burnt out on shooters so I'm really looking forward to LBP and could care less about Haze (I was really upset when I saw the recent gameplay footage, seems the developer couldn't handle the jump from 64/gamecube to the PS3), Killzone, and Resistance 2 (they need to stick with platformers damnit, not generic shooters).

I got the PS3 for my platformer/RPG needs but so far I haven't been satisfied. Hopefully Disgaea 3 will make it state-side.

One exception to the shooter comment, and that is the new SOCOM game.

Oh and Gears of War 2 for the 360, of course.

I'm just the opposite. PS3 has a lot of exclusives that I love, and 360 doesn't have much exclusives to interest me. And even those "exclusives" are usually available on PC, which makes me ask the question "why spend hundreds of dollars on this thing for exclusives I could just play on my computer..." for cheaper too (game prices are cheaper on PC) and I'd have the option of using either keyboard/mouse OR gamepad... not just one particular gamepad either; 360, Dualshock/SIXAXIS, or something completely different.

PS3 and 360 are very similar in price, so I just don't get your argument. And I would think at the least you'd be fairly happy with either anyways because there's a crap-ton of multiplats anyways.

It's an opinion dude. I'm not happy with what the PS3 has to offer yet because the games I've wanted from it haven't come out. I have 3 games for the console so far that I've actually bought, and they don't get much play time. I'm sick of shooters (on consoles) and not a fan of hack n slash games. I play pc games, but only RTS's and Unreal 2004. So far the only really decent RPG to come out on the 360 or PS3 was Lost Odyssey for the 360, partially cause I'm a huge fan of the developer, but it was a great game regardless. Sony should have never funded Killzone 2 and concentrated on giving gamers what they aren't getting enough of elsewhere. Try to push up dates on foreign RPGs waiting for translation (Disgaea 3) or even fund one of their own. Perhaps some platformers or even an adventure game. Also I need in-game XMB soon if I really wanna get into it. I often find myself idly playing games chatting with friends who aren't even in the room or during single-player games.

Most use I get out of it now that the initial luster has passed is when I rent Blu-ray movies. Same goes for the Wii as well, only when my lady is in town does the Wii get used (haha). Random thought though, if Twilight Princess didn't have the fucking wolf form in the game I would have loved to play for more than a few hours.

Lars, most people don't want to spend thousands on a fancy computer that MIGHT be able to run a game. Xbox 360 is MUCH more cost efficient than PC.

Anticrawl, based on your comment I still don't understand how you can be totally dissatisfied with your PS3 but totally fine with the 360, especially since you're not into shooters. But anyways, I kinda see your point. Not enough RPG's I totally agree with. And I'm annoyed that LBP was announced so early for me to drool over. But PS3 has given me a lot of "different" gaming experiences than available on anything else.


Superstar90: good computers don't cost thousands... this is not 1990, get your facts straight. Plus most people have a computer already for other reasons, which they could use for gaming. Mine cost a whopping $400 and I play stuff like Orange Box, Mass Effect, and WoW just fine (plus it has a heck of a lot more usefulness outside of gaming than a console does).
