I wonder if anyone will say the PS3 is just a movie player and claim that there are NO GAMES after these come out.
It is clear to me that Sony prefers to be the Tortise rather than the Hare.
"5 million PS3s in the region. Similar numbers as PS2 timeframe, in spite of higher cost. Sold more than 360, in spite of 16 month difference and recent price drop."
And now the PS3 has OUTSOLD the 360 in the 4+ months of 2008.
I am not gloating about the PS3 selling more than the 360, I am just stunned by it, considering how BAD the PS3 was doing. Just like I thought, it is easy to see that alot of the negativity about how POORLY the PS3 was selling (I'm looking at you Gabe) it has still sold MORE than the 360 in 16 months LESS on the market.
Impressive is all I can say.

I personally would not have bought the 40gb model, but that model really helped to boost PS3 sales since it came out late last year.
There's a bunch of nice exclusives coming out this year as well.
I expect it to stay in 3rd place this generation in sales but this year is a great year to own a PS3 anyways. : )

Don't fret, you still have GoW2, R2, to keep your FPS bug in check.
Just when you are getting bored with those games, KZ2 will be out and you won't care. At first I was pissed, but then I looked at Sony's release list for this year, and I realized that I will have MORE than enough to keep my wallet empty.
Play the 1st KZ on the PS3, the framerate drops are a thing of the past and the PS3 makes it look a bit smoother also.
The biggest complaint about KZ from the reviews were the slowdown issues.

if its apparently even in europe, obviously winning in japan. Then that leaves the US as the 360 strong hold

Anyway, I predict sony catching up to MS by the end of the this year or sometime in 2009.(this assumption is not supported by data, just a simple ballpark estimate)
I think its under seven million units away from catching 360, which is impressive considering the extremely negative reviews and the high price of the system. So with better public image and some big games i can see the two systems ending in a tie. THe sum of both would probably add up to the total Wii numbers.
And since we're talking about systems, Wii is "this generation" console, but honestly, if you are at least fifteen years old, and your girlfriend did not make you buy one, owning a Wii is gay. I said it, burn me, crucify me, whatever. But deep inside you know it. Im sure some games are fun, but I would never be able to have that system in my room next to my Ps2, Ps3, Xbox, and (once i get the cash, 360 Elite) without feeling like I lost my manhood.
