Some Rock Band tracks to go on sale this month
We know that, especially thanks to the spiffy new Rock Band in-game store, buying tracks in the game is the very height, the apex, if you will, of impulse buying. But, for a few select tracks from the game, it might be better if you can restrain yourself temporarily: A batch of songs from the game will be getting their prices slashed to 80 points ($1.00). Though only Microsoft's Major Nelson has posted about the sale, we're assuming it applies to PS3 owners as well. We've emailed Harmonix for confirmation.
The sale starts with "Crushcrushcrush" by Paramore and "Rock 'n Roll Band" by Boston, but new pairs of songs will be subbed in each week. We've put the full list after the jump so you can plan your buying accordingly.

Damn. Already got all of those that I want.
Tiptup300 @ May 6th 2008 3:17PM
Even worse, I already bought ALL of them!
GreyFox @ May 6th 2008 3:51PM
Wasn't crushcrushcrush and Shockwave on sale when they initially hit?
tangocat @ May 6th 2008 9:02PM
Yes, Crushcrushcrush was 80 when it was released. I know since I bought it at that price..
T @ May 6th 2008 2:19PM
Same here (though 4 of them were picked up when they were originally released at 80MSP)
I wonder if this is related to overall DLC sales. Like, these 8 aren't doing too well (though there's probably some other motivation...like promoting the Boston or Grateful Dead packs)

Check this guy's chart of DLC for a vague idea of popularity/success:

Last week's MotherHips was certainly a snooze!
whistlepig @ May 6th 2008 2:33PM
you know the garabge pail kids they never lie
zero2dash @ May 6th 2008 3:05PM
So is this a "week only" sale or a "from now on" sale?
FSK405K @ May 6th 2008 4:28PM
That MS blogger dude said "Each week until June 1st, you can grab two new tracks for 80 points each." It's a bit ambiguous but more strongly would suggest that the prices will return to normal at the end of the month.
syrik zero @ May 6th 2008 3:56PM
Do I get a refund on the ones I paid full for =(
Guess_Who @ May 6th 2008 4:30PM
Aren't these all from that PS2/Wii track pack?
I think that might be why they're slashing the prices.
Guess_Who @ May 6th 2008 4:33PM
Well, now that I say that, I see the songs from the second week are not. The rest are though.
Guess_Who @ May 6th 2008 4:35PM
... disregard those posts, I suck cocks. A few of them are in the track pack but not all.
whistlepig @ May 6th 2008 5:49PM
you suck what? lol
finnith @ May 6th 2008 9:42PM
I don't see why you had to use that reference.
Tonbo @ May 6th 2008 11:02PM
I am still upset they hiked up the fee on All American Rejects and Thirty Seconds to Mars without warning. I was waiting for my friends to come over before I bought it and then was like WTF? and ofcourse would not buy the songs after that b.s. And Joystiq did not help with a warning either since they did not even know it was only a temporary price. I would like to see those songs come back down to 99 cents again. I check every week now so I do not get screwed again.
Makeseven @ May 7th 2008 1:25AM
i guess a lot of people typically view that as a bad thing is why...
James @ May 8th 2008 1:42AM
the DLC tracks for sale this week still show up as regular price on the in game store...anyone else see this?
