S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky shipping worldwide on August 29, Deep Silver has announced that it will handle publishing duties in North America for developer GSC Game World's upcoming prequel to 2007's
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl. We think it's particularly interesting that Deep Silver, a UK-based studio that only established a US footprint
last month in Los Angeles, has been trusted to steer the game's North American debut instead of THQ, which handled the original game's release last year.
As the latest in GSC's
considerable plans for the
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. universe, the game promises a "what-if" look at the events leading up to last year's FPS/RPG hybrid, and according to Deep Silver was "created as a warning to mankind against mindless play with technologies" -- especially, we assume, any tech that can give rise to hordes of radioactive beasties.

I've always liked the looks of this game & am patiently waiting for a port to the 360. Wasn't there a story about GSC hiring a bunch of console developers fairly recently?

Why bother with the 360? One of the nice things about STALKER is that it's modable on the PC.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. was easily up there with the best PC games of last year. Of course, it was overshadowed by the fantastic slew of games that came out in the fall.

STALKER was easily the best game of last year, incredible story and atmosphere, cant wait for Clear Sky.
If your worried about Starfoce buy it on Steam (like everyone else!).

I for one would LOVE STALKER on 360. Shadow of Chernobyl was one of the richest single player experiences I ever had (along the ranks of Deus Ex 1) but I'm tired of spending the cost of a new console every year to upgrade my machine! Never thought I'd become a console gamer, but fuck it, 360 rocks!
