There are a lot of good platformers on the 360.
Tomb Raider Legend + Anniversary

Braid
and a whole crapload of others also on XBLA, I just don't know which ones to classify as platformer.

Pick a reason: lack of developer interest in the product due to it being a contracted IP, different development cycles, less money invested. These games are the result of the publisher "milking a cow." You can't be surprised if a game is not as good as its previous incarnations when the original developer (in this case Naughty Dog) is not involved.
