It's been two years since the last Fight Night game was released, which is practically eons ago in the annualized sports game world. But EA announced this afternoon that fans need wait no longer as Fight Night will return for "Round 4" at some point next year on Xbox 360 and PS3.
There are few details at this point, other than what you'd expect (new gameplay engine, new physics, etc.). Perhaps most exciting is that Mike Tyson will appear in the game, more than a decade after both his last video game appearance and his last brush with relevance.

@Dracula
For EA, change is usually good... but it's the cut, copy and paste method you have to watch for...

Not to be mean but if you read the question I'm asking which EA studio is making this game. Montreal, Tiburon, Redwood Shore, Canada or other. They all bring something a little different to the table, that's why I asked...

As much as I sucked at FN3, the game was still fun. It's going to be neat to see what they change

Mike Tyson appeared in a whole line of his own games in 2002. But I get that ending the blog post with a snide remark is more important to Joystiq than accurate reporting.

I wonder how the gameplay would be like. Oh right, it's an EA license, therefore I should always expect the worst and be pleasantly surprised if it acta.

Kinda sucks that they're not coming out with a wii version with dumbed down graphics. It would be cool to have a fully fledged boxing game with wiimote controls, although after one fight I'd probably be worn out...
