Haze PSN demo hits in Europe, coming to US tomorrow
As if offering apology for Haze's numerous delays, the demo will include both a sampling of the game's single player campaign called "Salva Region," as well as "drop-in drop-out" co-op multiplayer for up to four players online or over a LAN, or with two players via split-screen. We're sure that there is some "coming out of the haze" joke to be made here, but honestly, after months of waiting we're simply all joked out.

The games a mess, its ugly as hell, the resolution is nearly at Wii level (1024x576, no AA), and its got some of the most boring game play I've played since Black Site.

Yeah, most of the previews (you can download the Demo from the EU Store) find the demo very generic, with bad graphics... but the main critic was the awful voice acting.

Saying that, I played the demo today, its not the next Halo or anything, but its good regardless, no matter what people say, it could be quite popular, needs a few upgrade though, quite a few things I wasn't particularly happy with.

I'm just saying what other PS3 fanboys are saying. The game runs at 576p, the voice acting is bad and the game is generic, in the same level as TimeShift, Area 51, etc.
Just read the comments in just this thread. Now imagine all the comments from several sites that preview the game yesterday.

Timeshift is significantly better than Black Site.
Anyway, I played the demo and it was OK. The voice acting is indeed a bit strained, but I think they were attempting to portray that the characters are a bit "off" due to the nectar. Like they are unaturally pumped up. But it comes off as simple bad voice acting more than their intended effect.
And the graphics are not as bad as people here are making them out to be.

I have a very good chance to win... sales for the PS3 version was 1 million first day and just 300,000 for the rest of the week.
Mario Kart Wii almost sold to sell the same as the PS3 version, and GTA is going to be the best PS3 selling game this year.

You really think MGS4 will sell that many copies? I just don't think it has the drawing power. I would expect Resistance 2 to pull it off though, as many of us played the hell out of the 1st one when we got the system.

I think GTAIV is going to end up selling more copies on PS3 than MGS will based on mainstream appeal, and the sales of previous titles in both franchises. Personally, I'm a bigger fan of the MGS series, but personal opinions don't really enter into it, do they?

NATO_Duke, MGS4 has a better chance than R2. MGS is an established series while R2 is a sequel to launch title that most early PS3 owners purchased because there weren't that many games to choose from. Dont get me wrong, I'm dying to try out that 60 player MP but MGS4 is Sony's biggest game this year. Hence, all those damn bundles. I agree, GTA has this year on lock so far. I am looking forward to all the other games this year on 360/PS3 but MGS4 is THE game for me. Hopefully, it'll live up to the hype its been receiving. Cause Sony needs an actual 3rd party exclusive to be successful!!!

noskillbassist, play the demo before you judge the comment. The gameplay is very, very bad, and from FR I was expecting something really good. But its just a mess. It wouldn't be so bad if the game play was half decent, but the fact its awful to play AND an awful mess...? No thanks.
My 1080p Samsung TV wasn't bought for shoddy stuff like this...

I have played the demo and I don't think it's as bad as everyone puts it out to be. As far as we know this demo could be derived from an earlier build. It's not the prettiest, but it's not the ugliest either. My only complaint is the voice acting..."We knock these asses down like skittles!" WTF DOES THIS MEAN?!

I actully liked the demo, the gameplay was smooth. It doesn't look great, but I thought it played well. I think it will be a pretty good game.

The only joke left is the game itself unfortunately. It finally finished downloading today and I'm really dissappointed. I wouldn't say there is any one factor of the game that stands out as being dire, but there is just nothing that sets it apart from the already over-populated genre. Local and online co-op is all well and good, but you need a solid, exciting and original shooter to play it on and this just fails to deliver. Thankfully pre-orders dont require a deposit in the UK.

I made my EU account yesterday xEuroFenix lol, and started downloading it. Its a huge demo, over a gig but I turned it off at 64% complete last night. Ill see what all the fuss is about tonight.

Lets just say, while it could be fun to play, unlike GTA4, you're not missing out on anything if you don't play it.

Heavenly sword is FAR from incredible. The voice acting and mo-cap in the cut scenes is impressive but every single thing it did, had been done better in other games.

That game is incredible.
Lair is also a great game. Once you get used to the controls its very intuitive.
@fenix I haven't played Haze so I can't say how good or bad it is but Lair and especially Heavenly Sword were awesome games. Lair was great because of the originality of the content & graphics/story. Heavenly Sword has the best facial technology and voice acting ever in a game. HS was truly epic with the only complaint being length of the game.
I expect Haze to be similar to Warhawk in terms of fun and playability. Maybe in terms of graphics as well but I can't wait to try it out.
