Sony America has trademarked the word "Qore" to be used in "providing [an] interactive online magazine and entertainment in the field of video games." As is standard with these trademark stories, it behooves us to mention that this doesn't mean Qore will ever see the light of day, as it's simply a trademarked word and description at the moment.
At this point there's really nothing left to do but speculate at what "Qore" could become. While we're at it, feel free to speculate on how to actually pronounce it as well.

There will be two versions. Hardqore will be for the mature crowd, softcore will be for everybody.
Also, this is a very ironic post for a blog called "Joystiq."

So how many SONY backed sites/blogs/etc. will be created to reverse the bad press the PS3 has gotten?

I hate it when people add [an] edit to a quote that is already correct.

I don't think that’s correct without the "an". It would be correct to say "providing interactive online entertainment" but the fact they include magazine makes it so "an" is needed. (If you hade magazine as a plural it would fix it as well.)

Is this going to be part of Home? If it is, boy that's really going to take off then (snooze). And if it isn't, don't we have enough 'interactive' magazines on the internet already?

BTW, when the hell is Home supposed to be coming out? I feel like Sony isn't as zealous as they once were about this feature.
And as weird as it sounds, I use my DS on the toilet way more than other suitable reading materials. Maybe this is the true purpose of handhelds?

They are trademarking the word Qore under the false announcement of an online magazine. I bet they are going to use it for the PS4 whenever it comes out. Who knows what part of the system they'll use it for but it will come into play some how.

It's pronounced just like "Home", only different.
