While confirming Home will "definitely be coming out in Autumn," SCEE president David Reeves said that "maybe we were too ambitious with the non-gaming applications within Home, getting sponsors and stuff like that." In an interview with CVG, Reeves continued to say, "In that sense we were deserting gamers. So, we're concentrating on the gaming by launching games in Home."
The closed beta for Home is still ongoing. Earlier today, EA Sports president (and former Xbox executive) Peter Moore said he was interested in the service but "disappointed" by its delays. Home producer Daniel Hill told our friends at PS3 Fanboy that game spaces will be shown later this month.

I dont understand how 50 bux a year isnt reasonable......thats less than 5 bux a month people pay 70 bux just to play WOW...Sayin it cost 50 bux a year just means your a broke ass and if u can pay 400 dollars for a system 5 bux a month shouldn't be a problem just dont buy that extra nickel bag of weed and pay for your Xbox live and you'll be fine....

You fail to realise that apart from its slightly fair lead in games, in-game access, the PS3 out does it in every single possible way.
Easy to use menu interface, easy to type, backup utility, sophisticated phot slideshows, MP3 visualisations looking prestigious, overall a much much clearer presentation.
I dont buy bluray movies but im sure its an appealing feature. Its sleak, appealing and professional looks is what sells it. Even after the price reduction, its still more of a premium at least. It will surely sell like hotcakes when it hits the hotspot when pricing.(was it $250 or £250?)
The xbox already managed to reach a hotspot in pricing so therefore, reducing it even more will only make a fraction of a difference compared to what the PS3 will be able to achieve.

3 Year Warranty, name me other electronic products that have that much security? I have gone through two 360's and I still love the hell out of it.
$4.25 a month, is that really a big deal? That is like a $1.12 a week! $1.12 a week! I lose that much change on my couch a week! That is nothing for one of the most complete console experiences ever!
You could bitch about the RROD all you want, but once people get a taste of a quality XBOX 360 game on the Live interface with achievements and friends lists they are hooked and wouldn't trade that experience for any other gaming experience.

haha you have to put a 3 year warranty because its a ticking time bomb that WILL fail (MS words, not mine)
Ive purchased two 360 that failed on me both, twice each. They both stay connected to Folding Home when i dont play games. They are tanks. I have a 80gb and 60gb PS3's that i dont have to coddle and place intercoolers or wrap in towels, or keep 20 feet away from carpet, or send to service centers. That is console security. They both stay connected to Folding Home when i dont play games. They are tanks

B-b-b-b-b-but achievements! How else will my friends stare at me in admiration if the don't know that I killed all the locust in stage 4 using only a toothbrush and a shoehorn?

I made a mistake by pointing this out on an update for Sony fans and home. Big mistake and there is really no point in convincing you how fun the Live experience really is, if it wasn't as wonderful a feature then PS3 fans wouldn't be yelling "I want in game XMB with Accomplishments" every friggin second an update on Sony's online situation is posted.

I had a hard time deciding which platform to buy GTAIV on. Achievements almost tipped the scales, but the prospect of listening to the noisy whine of the 360 DVD drive for 40 hours + of gameplay made me choose the PS3.
If there are any PS3-only gamers out there, do not underestimate the power of achievements. They add a whole other level of playability, reward and challenge to a game.
Even if it is for the number of kills by toothbrush or other dental cleaning device.

And in case anyone doesn't realize, Insomniac have had "achievements" in their games on the Playstation platform for years and you can guarantee they'll have more in Resistance 2. They know a good idea when they see one even if they are still waiting for Sony to realize it.

Achievements for individual games only fail at realizing why 360 owners are addicted. The resistance and uncharted achievements don't go to a total score, although I think the uncharted ones unlock some extra stuff in the game.
I'd like the trophies in home to do all that and give me some free shit like a wallpaper for the apartment for w/e game I earned it in.

Ambitious concept, poor execution. That could pretty much describe the entire history of the PS3.

By the time Home is released everyone working on it will be too old to remember why it was supposed to be a good idea in the first place.

The reason for failure is that I believe that sony cant get adverts for home... so they have to resort to advert their own products like the pic above.. very boring IMO.

you are disrespectful. don't get mad... it's just my opinion.. besides, you own a ps3... you are beneath me.

No, you are a lame troll, who has nothing better to do than take a dump in a thread in which you have no actual interest in. You do it all the time. Like clockwork, you will say something stupid in a PS3 thread. It is tiresome, and even on that rare occasion you have something intelligent to say, you can't even express yourself clearly.
Is that better?

Don't be sad. It just seems that many people think you're an idiot. But you must be used to that by now...

I have owned both (and the wii), and I enjoy console wars. I am noticing the PS3 is starting to install games on the HDD like a computer (Gran Turismo and GTA4), is the 360 doing this? and is there an advantage or disadvantage to it?

Screw Home. I have a home, and friends. All I want is games. I was never really going to use it. Let get real, the second that I'm starring at a freaking Nike Swoosh -- I am out of there. Fuck that.
So now, that (Sony) realizes, that focusing ALL their attention and man power on some useless, "giant online advertisement", that no one is going to use. Has been a complete waste of time.
Let's move the focus back to the PS3 (where it should have been in the first place), and PSN with more store content and user created updates. Start working on MORE PS1 & PS2 games. Put that (Home) shit down.
