- Name: Justin McElroy
- Job Position: Blogger and host/producer of the Joystiq Podcast
- Past Experience/Education: I've been writing about video games since I started reviewing them for The Herald-Dispatch when I was 12 years old. Besides Joystiq my work has appeared in Computer Games Magazine, The Escapist, Gamezebo, Gamers With Jobs: Press Pass and GameDaily.
- Life outside of the 'Stiq: I also have a degree in theater that I occasionally utilize. And, as you can tell with a quick Google Image Search, I love exercising. But my favorite (usually) non-gaming activity is hanging out with my wife Sydnee.
- Why I'm blogging: It's not very hard.
- First game experience: My earliest gaming memory is playing H.E.R.O. on the Atari 2600 at my friend Eric Near's house.
- Favorite games: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Seaman, Spider-Man 2, Quest for Glory series, BioShock, Phoenix Wright series, Fugitive Hunter, Portal.

In the world of professional game blogging, the people are represented by two separate, yet equally important groups: the bloggers who investigate the stories and readers who make silly comments. These are the first group's stories.

You guys should set a date then by that date, get everyones comment amount.(Don't tell us through date though) Then let everyone who wants to fill out the form and send it to you guys. Then filter it out by only people with 200 comments by the pre set date, then randomly pick a profile to post as a commenter's profile.
Though, by randomly, I mean most well known posters. :P

damn reply button (see above) anywho...
I knew there was a reason that I liked you, Justin. In what way do you utilize your degree? I'm an actor myself. I try to do the techie stuff but there's always someone there already who won't let anyone near "their" equipment. Or perhaps you've written a script or two?
If you're an actor, have you had any memorable roles? I had the honor of playing Harold Hill in "The Music Man" about a year ago at my local civic theatre.

I mainly just make obnoxiously loud critiques while watching plays at local schools and churches.

Quest for Glory is truly awesome and under-rated. They should put some of them on the DS.

"investigate the stories"
I don't remember noticing that part. I'll keep an eye for it in the future. I thought it was journalists who investigated stories, and bloggers who posted and reposted hot news and gossip?
thats not meant as a diss against joystiq... but there do seem to be a lot of people out there who don't understand the difference between a journalist and a blogger.. which is kinda worrying.
(Kudos to joystiq on how it usually tags rumors as such though!)

(Hears screams in background) "We love you Justin. Ahhhh! Have my baby!"
It's hard being a playa like J-Dawg.
Keep up the good work Justin. You're entertaining to read and listen to on the weekly podcast. And thanks for sharing some of these photos on Joystiq...because I will never join Facebook, MySpace, or any such group. Just not my thing. Though I do feel deprived of photoshop work you are all enjoying over there. Perhaps you could open up a whole Photoshop tab on Joystiq?
Have a good day all!
