Moore 'disappointed' Home still isn't done
Peter Moore tells Eurogamer he wishes Sony's Home service would just ship already. The former Xbox exec turned EA Sports president says he's interested in working with Home, but he's "disappointed" that it keeps getting pushed back.
Moore expresses that he really wants Home to become the portal to the PlayStation Network and something that EA Sports could utilize, but that nothing's going to happen until it's done. Moore's got plenty on his plate currently as he tries to reinvigorate the EA Sports division and launches a new sub-brand.

You go Pete. Get Kaz to release it sooner rather than later.
Killer Loki @ May 8th 2008 1:04PM
I think Moore should let Sony worry about 'Home'. He should be more worried about the same shit every year sports games EA puts out.
FOXHOUND @ May 8th 2008 1:09PM
+1 ... took the text right out of my keyboard & fingertips. :]
Still waiting on NHL on Wii, EA. :\
Void Munashii @ May 8th 2008 1:09PM
You don't need to have quality when you monopolize the licenses though.

He'll start worrying about the pool of money that he can fill with money from those very same franchises before he worries about the staleness of the franchises.
FrankTheCrank @ May 8th 2008 2:46PM
Sure, let's rush it out the door. Just like you rushed the 360 out, hence RROD.
Smoke_Dawg_187 @ May 8th 2008 1:06PM
I wonder if he'll be even more disappointed once Home is actually released.
But Home does seem like an interesting idea. Console mover? Probably not.
Josh @ May 8th 2008 1:07PM
Hey Moore,
Of all people that should be talking about getting things out the door fast, it should be you! Because everyone saw how well that went with the first batch of 360's you sent out.
Thank you Peter Moore for all of wonderful insight.
baby sea tuna @ May 8th 2008 1:11PM
So it's official, now *eleven* people still give a shit about home.
I'll admit, I was interested at one point...a year ago. Now? Not so much.
baby sea tuna @ May 8th 2008 2:23PM
I noticed that while I got voted down, no one on here actually cares enough to make a comment that disagrees with me. Thanks for making my point for me.
Matt B @ May 8th 2008 2:32PM
Sorry, I guess most people don't need to justify voting 'Teh Mighty Sea Tuna' down to you. Get over yourself dude.
You proved a point, but not the one you were thinking about.

FOXHOUND @ May 8th 2008 2:34PM
Actually, I voted positively for you. I don't blame any PS3 owner(and only them)for being annoyed with the delays of HOME... simply because I doubt a significant percentage of non-PS3 owners are waiting to buy the system *just* for that.
baby sea tuna @ May 8th 2008 2:58PM

I didn't even mean in response to me personally. As of when I posted that, not one person on here made a positive comment about Home. There were some negative ones about Peter Moore, sure, but the two aren't mutually exclusive.
el serpiente @ May 8th 2008 3:54PM
Because you dropped a lame turd in the thread.
What is there to say about Home? I'll judge it when it comes out. Must I be foaming at the mouth in anticipation for it to be a worthwhile addition? No. I'll wait and see. It's not something I really need or necessarily want very badly, but I am excited to see what it actually brings to the table. For free.
But if you would like to continue with your knee-jerk and sarcastic dismissal of something you haven't even touched yet, by all means, go ahead. Don't be surprised if your stupidity gets downvoted though.
John @ May 9th 2008 12:22AM

El-serpiente; meet kettle
el serpiente @ May 9th 2008 2:08AM
John, I think you are falling in love with me.
John @ May 9th 2008 7:05AM
no, but I do think you re a fucking troll who posts unfunny, unoriginal, and just plain retarded comments.
Sometimes they are even on topic.
el serpiente @ May 9th 2008 8:51AM
It's okay John, let the feelings take you over. Surrender yourself to that warm fuzzy feeling inside. You know what that is, John? That's love John. And life in this crazy world is to short and too valuable to waste any time denying what one truly feels inside.
RPGJock @ May 8th 2008 1:11PM
I can't believe I am actually about to say this.
I agree with Peter Moore.
I just got weird goosebumps from just saying that.
I am just saying....
noskillbassist @ May 8th 2008 1:14PM
Am I the only one who finds Moore a charismatic and likable guy? I get this vibe that he'd be cool to just hang out with.
NATO_Duke @ May 8th 2008 1:46PM
Yeah he seems like an ok guy.
Apparently he hasn't had a chance to play the Home beta though. Maybe he wouldn't want to see it released if he did.
Before the fanboys pitch a fit - I have been in the beta a long time now, so don't tell me how special Home is. My use of it trumps your blind fanaticism.
copa @ May 8th 2008 1:51PM
Tell us more, NATO_Duke.
NATO_Duke @ May 8th 2008 2:16PM
Oh you know how it goes - we all have to be quiet on details. I can only say that it isn't all that exciting as of yet.
Vidikron (FU) @ May 8th 2008 2:20PM
But I think your impression of the beta may be somewhat flawed. I think Home is something that needs a large number of users to form the community. I don't think anyone will truly know how Home will turn out until it's in the hands of the masses.
Jfk Aok @ May 8th 2008 2:25PM
holy crow...are you kidding me!? He's played with it, you haven't. I prescribe you go watch Zero Punctuations new video 3 times a day and get at least 8 hours of sleep for 2 months.
NATO_Duke @ May 8th 2008 2:35PM
"But I think your impression of the beta may be somewhat flawed. "
Oh, ok Vid, you got me there. I mean, how would I know what I am talking about from using it? Crazy talk on my part. I will withold my opinion until someone else uses it and says its great.
FOXHOUND @ May 8th 2008 2:38PM
Don't get me wrong, he seems pretty chill. I'm just not a big fan of the companies he works for and some of their odd policies.
I'm sure he'll do good though... and prolly doesn't give a rat's ass about much, so long as he gets paid. Just like anyone else, really.
Vidikron (FU) @ May 8th 2008 3:54PM
@Jfk Aok & NATO
I thought my point was rather clear and not difficult to understand. I've been in plenty of closed betas myself. All I'm saying is Home is community based application. I've seen a lot of the complaints against Home from other beta testers and many, if not most, seem to be centered around the fact there's not many people to interact with. I think that's the downfall of the closed beta in a community based application.
NATO_Duke @ May 8th 2008 4:17PM
Oh got ya Vid, yeah I'm a real idiot for not agreeing with you. What the hell is wrong with me?
I understood your point and disagreed with it. Home will have only so many people in each server, and when I am in a server using it there are other people there. You said my "impression of the beta may be somewhat flawed." I am saying that I know what my impression is through being the one to experience it - and my gripe is not that there are not enough users.
Thanks for the condescending response - much appreciated. Now I'm going back to preparing for a client's trial - so people who have a basis to disagree with me can have their time.
Vidikron (FU) @ May 8th 2008 4:31PM
Why are you being such a jackass today? Anyway, you didn't seem to understand what I was saying:
"Oh, ok Vid, you got me there. I mean, how would I know what I am talking about from using it? Crazy talk on my part. I will withold my opinion until someone else uses it and says its great."
Where did I say it was crazy talk? Where did I suggest you should withhold your opinion? What does what you said have to do with anything I said at all? It has jack shit to do with what I said.
It's fucking laughable that you would call my respose condescending. Talk about being a hypocrite. I only responded that way because you were condescending toward my first response. HELLO?
And please note that I said "may" and "somewhat" in my initial response. I didn't say "is" and "completely". You didn't bother explaining anything so I was just going off what I've heard a lot of other beta testers compalin abaout. And I stick 100% by what I said. I don't think anyone can have a truly complete picture of a community based application until it's actually in the hands of the community. That seems rather obvious.
NATO_Duke @ May 8th 2008 4:40PM
Well, im a little annoyed with some overly detailed crap I have to do at work today, but I don't think I am being a jackass really.
You said you think my view may be flawed. Thats an odd thing to think about someone's view when they are the one participating. I don't think my view is flawed. I think I am completely capable of forming a view without the need for others to influence it.
Think what you will about Home, but I too have my thoughts on it, which come from some experience with it.
ill trooper @ May 8th 2008 4:48PM
Duke: "I am saying that I know what my impression is through being the one to experience it - and my gripe is not that there are not enough users."
Actually, NO, you didn't say that - at first. C'mon man, relax. Run the minutes back: Vid suggests that you may not be getting the best Home experience in your beta testing because there isn't a full public population yet. You lambast Vid for suggesting this, and act like no one should ever doubt a beta tester. Then in rebuttal you fess up that you're not enjoying it very much for the EXACT reason that Vid brought up.
NATO_Duke @ May 8th 2008 4:54PM
ill trooper - I think you need to replay the record there. I did not say I wasn't enjoying it for the same reason he did.
I said that the number of users was not the issue. My quote you posted shows that.
You are stetching to try and catch me in something.
noskillbassist @ May 8th 2008 1:14PM

Phranctoast @ May 8th 2008 1:19PM
*rolls eyes* Let Sony worry about Home. You can worry about getting your games running over 30fps.
Jfk Aok @ May 8th 2008 2:27PM
you don't know what Mr. Moore's job is do you?
Phranctoast @ May 8th 2008 2:42PM
He's the head of EA games.
why?
Are you trying to pull technicality BS with me by saying hes not the programmer. *rolls eyes again*
As head of EA games he could make those decision that would make the PS3 the lead development console and not give us a shoddy port. It's a well known fact that when this happens it means for a better game all around.
Phranctoast @ May 8th 2008 2:43PM
I meant EA sports.
ThornedVenom (Harley Quinn Defense Force) @ May 8th 2008 5:23PM
I personally can't tell the difference between 30 fps and 60 fps.
Why? Persistence of vision: modern films are shot at 24 fps.
Maverick Saturn @ May 8th 2008 1:30PM
Lmao
Does moore realise what company he works for?
Nuff said :)
Jfk Aok @ May 8th 2008 2:30PM
Ugh, the timing of Home's release has more impact on developers for PS3 than anyone else...especially if you're making online capable sports games that sell millions.
He doesn't want his games to be the guinea pigs, but instead he wants his key games to be the first GOOD adopters. It's about marketing, and marketing is about timing.
Did I really need to type this? Isn't it kinda obvious?

I apologize for the double post.

True, but quality control is also important, and we want the best quality from Home don't we?
Besides, on the topic of quality, this is EA we are talking about ¬_¬
tmacairjordan87 @ May 8th 2008 1:43PM
I have 6 360s because peter moore and the other microsoft guys thought it a good idea to "get it out already". Thanks for all the hassles!
