Sony launches PSP headset with remote for Skype

For help on how to get the headset working with your PSP-2000 (sorry, early adopters, it doesn't work with older models), check out PSP Fanboy's official guide.

Yes! Finally a way to talk to someone when I am away from home...wait...I already have a cell phone.

Ordered it, but still have not received this headset from buy.com. Hopefully this will mean it'll arrive soon.
And Muddy: Yes... We all have mobile phones: but if you're at home or in a hotel on a wifi network, why pay for international calls at phone company prices when you can call around the world (or the block) for next to nothing? (Or exactly 'nothing' if you're calling Skype-to-Skype.) So look into it before playing next time, you'll be glad you did.

It's great for people who call internationally. For those of us (like me) who have a cellphone and never call internationally.... it's actually kinda meh.
We use it occasionally at work for conference calls... that's one way it's better than a cellphone. I might pick one up just for that feature... roam around the house with the PSP while in a meeting with guys at work. Not too bad.

"Rakim, the microphone soloist" Skype is a great application for us who need to call internationally. I call friend in Mexico, France, and Argentina all the time with this device. I have it for my Cingular 8125 and I can tell you that this has better call quality (with a headset) than some of my local or national calls on my cell. Skype is much, much better than MSN or any other chat client for PC to PC calls. Hey at least the PSP gets this nice application, I have a DS and stuck with nothing. What I don't understand is why isn't this application compatible with the PSP Phat. I know they said it was some bullshit about RAM but c'mon I can run this on my cell and not a PSP? Oh well. Can we get Skype on the Wii please for some fucking voice chat in games?! I don't give a shit if some inbred calls me beaner or other dumb shit. Nintendo can make it where only people registered through Wii codes can only chat to make it family friendly.

PSP Phat FTL :-(

No, Sony FTL. Who gave the ok on the decision to abandon the previous model??
Little things like this and PS3s joke of backwards capability that gravitate me towards Nintendo over a company like Sony.

With hope I'll be getting mine tomorrow from Amazon.

Wow. That was a great joke a year ago.
