Damn you WoW. You continously try your best to pull me back into your black hole of boredom but I won't bite...not this time.

But me and 10 million others will!
It looks great!

At what stage did you start finding it boring? I've had a character since the game came out, only playing on and off when I had the money for a month's subscription. Right now my only character is level 40. I keep looking forward to the next thing, and love discovering distinctive new areas to explore. Right now I'm trying to get some mail armour to replace all my leather stuff (I'm a Shaman).
Haven't started finding it boring yet :)

I played for about a year and a half (quit last november before mass effect came out), had a 70 rogue with a mix of gear from SSC and the eye but out guild hit a wall for a while and you probably know how hard it is for a rogue to find another high end guild.
So it got to the point where I'd just sit in shattrath until raid time then get frustrated at not killing anything new so I quit. The plan was to quit until lich king came out but around february I actually cared nothing for WoW anymore and had 0 urges to come back. I broke my addiction :D

Dude. I have pretty much the same story as you. Had a high level Ret Pally and gave it up when I broke up with my girlfriend (we used to play together all the time). But after a month or two of not playing, I had no desire to be playing it again.
Plus, now I have GTA IV to keep me busy for a few months.

This looks absolutely great...
I didn't think I was going to ever get excited about Lich King (I even forgot what the title of this post was referring to) but this looks really really tempting.

As a retired WoW player
This looks great

I tried to play WOW on 2 occasions. Eveyone tells me it really doesn't get fun until level 70.....And yet no one will help you out because your such a low level. or they want to take you through stuff, with you just hanging back letting them one hit everything in the instance and you just collect the loot. That my friends is BORING! Plus i can't stand pressing a button and waiting for my toon to make the action....which is probably why I don't like MMO's.
SGT Grumbles @ May 10th 2008 12:17PM
I have the same problem as you do. I love the ideas of MMOs but I just can't stand playing them. There's nothing that hooks you in at the beginning. I only made it to level 19 in WoW before I gave up.

The amount of content in the game is just mind-boggling and they keep adding to it. At this rate I'll be playing it until the day I die.
LAWL @ May 9th 2008 6:32PM
Damn these is Ironic,i get my WOTLK information just after i got out of denial and accepted that WOW in TBC sucked, and that WOTLK might suck too.
Right now,all im waiting for is AoC,it might be cool or it might suck but time will tell, same about WOTLK tho,it could be cool but it might suck just like TBC did.
theydidntnameme @ May 9th 2008 6:25PM
ill rejoin wow if the DK can use death pact

As a former WoW player as well, i must say it looks great. But i can't shed the feeling of its "more of the same". The flying mount combat is new gameplay, which WoW sorely needs in my opinion. Something fresh. They can keep adding new zones to the end of time but if they don't keep the gameplay fresh most people like myself will get bored of it eventually. The addiction certainly wares off after a year or so of playing it.
