Although we still don't know definitively who's developing Call of Duty 5 (rumors suggest Treyarch), Activision Publishing CEO Mike Griffith said the next game will be changing settings again. In a conference call yesterday (35:00 mark), he said, "We'll bring the intensity of the recent Call of Duty: Modern Warfare title to a new military theater."
Also confirmed were plans to launch "on all four platforms we've participated on in fiscal 2008" -- that's Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Windows and DS -- as well as PS2 and Wii. We're hoping the "new military setting" isn't related to World War II as the recent Treyarch job listing suggested.

I'm betting most of you guys won't know about Kashmir, the region between India and Pakistan, would be cool to have a game based on that. Not really the conflict per se, but the scenery there is beautiful.
Of course, the COD games are only based from American/British/Russian viewpoints so thats a no go.

My Grandfather was in the CBI theater. That could make some interesting game play.

Treyarch is confirmed to be working on the new 007 game... If they're also working on COD5, what is IW doing?
I wish Activision wouldn't rush another COD game that's just going to add confusion and take away players from COD4.

Why are we even talking? They were asking for WWII earlier, and there hasn't been a COD game in the Pacific theater yet; that is what it is obviously going to be. And since its Treyarch, it's going to suck.

I can't believe they're even CONSIDERING having anyone but IW make the next version. IW obviously demonstrated they knew what the hell they're doing by making COD4 one of the most addictive games I've ever played. And the praise is pretty much universal, unless you don't like FPS' chances are good this is in your top 5 of all time. The only FPS I ever enjoyed more was Quake 3 Arena.
Seriously, Treyarch's versions have bombed big time - what the hell are they thinking??
