Console sandbox racer Burnout Paradise will soon be careening into oncoming traffic for PC, as developer Criterion announced this morning that it is rebuilding the title "specifically" to be played on a computer.
As the the first Burnout title to make the leap to the kingdom of the keyboard and mouse, Criterion is keeping mum on exactly what about Burnout Paradise is being tweaked in the move, stating only that the version will include "expanded multiplayer, enhanced online features, and community driven content." More information is expected to be announced later this morning as part of a live webcast on the Criterion Games website, so look for more PC-centric street carnage soon.

Anything involving EA which says 'enhanced online features' basically means 'a shitload of adverts'

Perhaps they will use an MMO structure and make this more like a massively multiplayer game similar to Test Drive Unlimited? That way people would need accounts to play and wouldn't be able to pirate the game.
I'm looking forward to see what changes they make.

I just wish some company, whoever it is, comes up with a DRM that makes sense, doesnt leave me open to hackers, and is invisible to the user. That way every publisher can use one type of DRM that everyone understands and it will become a non-issue. the Steam of DRM.

As long as it comes to STEAM, that's fine with me. I just hope it won't be like Bioshock that limits your installs. Since the game is multiplayer, I'm sure they will tie keys to a master server to get online as well, not that thst won't be worked around, but it helps.

This is the best news I've heard in a while. I just a 9600 GT yesterday, so this is just icing on the cake.

I'm surprised no one else was supremely underwhelmed by Burnout Paradise.

That's awesome. Burnout is one of the console franchises I had been wanting to play on PC.

For the first time ever, I might be looking forward to buying a controller for the PC.
Any good ones out there with decent quality, but cheaper than a 360 controller?

Already have it on PS3, not sure if I should give the PC version a go as well.
Fun game and all, but it really needs something above and beyond to make me pick it up a second time. Although... I know what would do it.
In-car view that stays in-car during crashes, and keeps the slow motion. ...come to think of it, why don't any games do this?

Knowing EA, I bet that the servers will be down in under 3 years.
