Can't wait to see how they've managed to up the graphics from the origional. Epic are probably the best 360 devs when it comes to graphics.

I'm expecting Epic to just loop a video of GoW and shoop a Chainsaw duel right in the middle of it.

I just can't shake the feeling it will be almost exactly like the first one with very minor upgrades to the actual combat. I kinda hope I'm wrong since the first one was meh to me and I'd like to have a much stronger campaign.

This industry has and always will be about evolution, not revolution. The sequel will be like the first, just hopefully more fleshed out.

There are sequels that do more than just add a couple new enemies, a new gun and a new campaign that's nothing special. It's FPS games that are one of the biggest culprits of rehashing nowadays.

Actually I feel the opposite. The first game, although pretty damn good imo, had a lot of room for improvement in every aspect. Story, gameplay, weapons, and multiplayer can become much better and I'm sure Epic can do it.

@Tmac

Sadly those are the exceptions not the rule. Most sequels seem based on, "let's not fix what isn't broken." Sure they have improvements here and there, but for the most part, most sequels are basically the same game as the first game.

This is going to be more like an Expansion than a Sequel.

I just hope they fixed all the online issues of the first one and the onñine gameplay.Gears of war had an awesome co-op but the multuiplayer mode was dull.

I have a feeling this is going to be just like Vegas 2... which is a great thing. I'd rather them polish the original up and perfect it than go all crazy with it and ruin the basics.

If it's exactly like the first one with more gore, guns, and B-movie cheese,I will be a happy camper.

The people who don't like this game basically just don't get it. Go watch the movie Dead Alive and come back.

I'm excited too. But that's mainly being a graphics whore AND a Kevin Lanning fan (was disappointed with the first Gears, but then again, I hated the first Unreal too).

I just wish it wouldn't be a Live exclusive.

I loved the first, but like tmacairjordan87, I'm skeptical.

What more could you possibly add to a game like Gears? The first pretty much had everything except a decent story and a long campaign.

I'm pretty sure this will be Gears part 2 rather then Gears 2.

Lets hope I'm prooved wrong, fingers crossed :) Excited ^^

Here's a brilliant plan.

1. Hype up a game they expect to sell consoles as a major franchise.

2. Make the debut video of gameplay available only to the consumers who already have the console.

3. Profit?!?

I want to see this video... so debuting it on Live instead of Gametrailers or other outlets makes no sense to me. Now releasing on both would be pure genuis....

Things have got so complicated..a few years back you would release the bloody game, and people would simply buy it and play it. Now its an endless cycle of "exclusive" trailers, comparison videos, half-completed games or delays, etc etc.

I'd just like to point out to everybody that Gametrailers is actually the one that has the exclusive, and it is going to be up in just under 3 hours right there on their site. The Xbox Live video will either be the same one or the (apparently) seperate clip that 1up/gamevideos are going to be showing at 10:30pst

I really liked the first game, but I wish they had had the time to get the extra missions from the PC version into the 360 game. The extra hours of play really brought the story around better, and made the game seem a lot longer, even on casual.

I still play the first one ~15 hrs week to this very day, so I'll pay $60 for whatever they want to give me no questions asked.

That said, anyone expecting a sequel to completely revolutionize things is a crazy fool. Sequels are meant to sell mainly to the people that enjoyed the original (especially with games that sold as well as Gears did), so it wouldn't make any sense at all to alienate those same people by changing the core gameplay from what they originally liked.

Yes, it will have a better story. Yes, it will have new levels, characters, and weapons. Yes, it will have some new gameplay mechanics (like destructible cover).

No, it will not remove the entire cover system and change the game into the first person view that you play with a motion sensing controller.

Dude

Most of these guys up in here havent even really played Gears enough to apreciate it. Dont waste your time trying to convince them otherwise, they are just complaining for no real reason.

For a good 4 to 5 months there was no other disc in my 360 than Gears and those were some of the best times in gaming for me. My Seriously achievement is proof, I was owning people left and right averaging anywhere from 150 to 200 kills a night in Ranked. Online is a great experience REGARDLESS of glitchers and host advantage and blah blah blah. Thats why its still one of the top games on Live to this day.

I'm tired of these idiots trying to crap on it for whatever bullshit reason. It's a mans action game with a gritty style. You want color then go play the Viva Pinata/Ratchet and Clank, you want a longer story go play an RPG. I cant wait for 2night to see GTTV on Spike and then Ima dl it on Live too. The first one sold bout 5mill, this ones selling even more than that.

Nuff said!

I still play a hell of a lot of Gears too. It's the best multiplayer experience I've ever had, and I've got way more than my £35 worth of value from the game.

Epic already has their first sale in me. (Of course, not literally INSIDE me.)

Should be an interesting leap as there's been some improvements to the Unreal engine - although I wouldn't be surprised if it's more of the same. I don't think Epic want to alienate the fanbase with something completely different.

My only wish is that they sort out the squad AI so it's more intelligent - too many times did Dom get in the way of me shooting stuff. Not many games (if any) get squad AI right so fingers crossed!

"If you want to catch a glimpse of all the testosterone-driven, monster-shooting madness promised in Epic Games' sequel, all you need is an Xbox 360 and enough dexterity to find the trailer on the Xbox Live Video Marketplace. Well, we suppose you'll need an internet connection too. Also, electricity."

Could you please tell me how you managed to play your 360 without a visual output(TV/amazing computer monitor/etc) of some sort?
