Kool Thing is in EVERYONE'S top 3 worst songs of GH3, why they would release it on Rock Band I will never know.

I agree completely ghen. I thought that video sounded familiar now I remember it was in GH3. To say I hate that song just cannot do my hate justice. It's one of the worst songs I've ever heard although that pornographers song or w/e they're called in Rock Band is almost as bad.

Wow, no love for Sonic Youth, New Pornographers, OR the Clash. Sonic Youth's Daydream Nation is one of the most incredible albums of all time, as is most of their work (eh on New York Ghosts and Flowers.) And ANYTHING by the New Pornographers and The Clash is equally as amazing. What kind of music do you listen to? Just curious.

Well besides old school rap I like a lot of rock, but rock that takes talent to make on nearly every instrument not ones that are simplistic pop sounding cash ins. Big fan of 80s thrash (metallica, megadeth, testament, anthrax etc) but I like some 70s rock too like Boston and a little Kiss and even some cheesy 80s hair metal like motley crue and skid row.

"but rock that takes talent to make on nearly every instrument"

The Cure is the very embodiment of that statement. As is Radiohead.

Radiohead doesn't have any talent. It doesn't take talent to play simplistic rhthyms and sing like you're dying.

My dear god, tmac. Almost every one of their albums is fucking incredible. Your reply is epic fail. Listen to "Paranoid Android" by Radiohead, and tell me that he 'sings like he's dying' or that there isn't any talent to that. They are the most influential band of this generation and have reinvented themselves with every album. Hey! I've even provided a link! http://youtube.com/watch?v=szdWPWnnNls

Being "the most influential" band of this generation means nothing since the 2000s is arguably the worst decade in rock history. And yeah that song is fucking depressing like every other radiohead song I've heard. The guy makes kurt cobain seem happy.

Wow, this is the best week of DLC yet. I'm almost as excited for this as I am for the Pixies and the Cars albums. I guess there's no accounting for taste. Maybe they'll get your Raffi songs up next week.

tmac you're a retard, the clash is known as the only band that matters for a reason, your list has mediocre bands at best, yes i know its an opinion but my opinion is better than yours...

on another note i really wish we could get something different from the clash other than "train in vain" or "stay or go". give me "straight to hell" or "death or glory" or "clampdown" or "spanish bombs" or "clash city rockers"
oh and sonic youth's "diamond sea" would be great.

Give us some Aztec Camera, Rock Band! Or better yet, give us "Good Morning Britain" and a bunch of Big Audio Dynamite songs.

I'll probably get the Blondie track, too. On the fence about this Sonic Youth thing, though.

Chuck D is on Kool Thing, though... at least the original version. This may be the closest you get to Public Enemy content, unless they go w/ Anthrax's version of "Bring the Noise".

I think they're just trying to release solid songs, just not OMFG songs, because of GTAIV. Let a couple weeks go by and it'll be great again. The Cars comes out soon. That'll be sweet!

@jsn THanks for the in depth analysis of candy bar economics, but it still doesn't change the fact that I don't think these songs are any good.

Like the guys on the HOtspot said, I feel like Harmonix is that old dude at the record store telling me what I should be into, no matter how many times I tell them no.

More fucking metal. They haven't released a goddamn thing since that "At the Gates with two other, shittier bands" thrash pack.

Nothing particularly offensive here. Some decent tunes and female vocal songs are always in high demand for our parties.

Not a home run like Oasis, but not as horrid as Judas Priest, either.

That's how I measure Rock Band DLC: Do my peeps want to play it?

Great week for Rock Band. Not my favorite Clash song, but still excellent. I know other die-hard Clash fans are mad at 'Rock The Casbah' but it would be amazing in this game. I'd like to see Sonic Youth's 'Dirty Boots' make it on RB at some point.

These songs are all fine, I'm going to wind up buying them all. but....

Except for Complete Control, the Clash track selections have been mediocre. Also, the Clash already have 3 other songs available on Rock Band, surely there's some room for other bands from that era/genre? What about the Sex Pistols? or the Jam? or the Damned? I'm not that particular, but I get tired of the same songs/groups being recycled over and over across the music game spectrum.

Anyone who complains about Sonic Youth is a total geek. If anything, they should be one the bands releasing albums on DLC. This is the most must but a song released has been for me so far.
