We need someone to tell us what games to buy !?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
gspartan @ May 9th 2008 12:17AM
Game Informer, always high journalistic standards.
NoHitHair @ May 9th 2008 1:03AM
+1 point to you.
zkey14 @ May 9th 2008 12:18AM
Droppin' in to let these folk know taking Penguin Freeman fashion trend enthusiast Andy McNamara's advice is not a good idea. Buy your mom a nice, big gift this weekend instead.
nxtiak @ May 9th 2008 12:23AM
Why does anyone even read GameInformer or think their reviews carry any weight? It's a GAME STORE MAGAZINE...EVERYTHING IS BIASED SO YOU'LL GO TO THEIR GAME STORE AND BUY STUFF.
NoHitHair @ May 9th 2008 1:02AM
Thank you. Maybe Joystiq will listen for once and actually stop posting anything G.I. says.
I'm beginning to wonder if this site is paid by G.I. to be spoken about. Anyone with a hint of journalism should be disgusted with the marketing fabricated claptrap that G.I. is.
Saria the Cat @ May 9th 2008 4:24PM
@NoHitHair: I think you're missing the point here. Joystiq is ridiculing GI, not endorsing it. And other Joystiq articles featuring GI don't come to mind, either.
NoHitHair @ May 12th 2008 9:53PM
"And other Joystiq articles featuring GI don't come to mind, either."
So this is your first time to Joystiq? Welcome aboard.
Eh @ May 9th 2008 12:24AM
"fine folks at GameStop"? wtf
SDeeperKyo @ May 9th 2008 12:24AM
I think most people are going to be spending their rebates on needs; food, gas, shelter. If it were me, I'd buy some gold, silver, or emergency supplies.
The Artist formally known as Jesus @ May 9th 2008 12:29AM
If I were you, I would buy some gold plated emergency supplies.
Deozaan @ May 9th 2008 1:41AM
If I were you, I'd educate myself on how gold isn't a good investment. Its value doesn't even keep up with inflation most of the time.
Anyone who tells you otherwise is trying to sell you something; and it's probably gold.
GRANTED @ May 9th 2008 9:08AM
I agree. Gold today is inflated for more than the housing market was 2 years ago. And we all know how that turned out..
SDeeperKyo @ May 9th 2008 12:43PM
Gold is inflated because of the Federal Reserve devaluing the dollar. I know gold is not an investment-it's asset protection, and most people have 10-15% of their portfolios in gold or other commodities. Example: I buy gold at $1000 an once and the dollar weakens again making gold rise to $1500. It may look like I've made money, but I haven't. The dollar is simply worth && less. So the $1000 I bought in at is protected against inflation. In other words, I could use my $1000(once) to trade for another one at $1500(once) without spending another $500. Of course the reverse could also happen, taking a loss from deflation, but with the way the market is looking, I doubt it.
Eddie @ May 9th 2008 12:27AM
17 years and over 3 million subscribers...i think maybe the mag is a little better than some of you give it credit for lmao
zkey14 @ May 9th 2008 12:31AM
May I direct you to the archived Paper Mario 2 fiasco back in '05
reiji @ May 9th 2008 12:34AM
Don't you get a free subscription when you get an EDGE card? I'm sure no one actually subscribes to it by choice.
John @ May 9th 2008 12:33AM
I love the overhyped sales rag.
and in other news, now I understand all the black screens I'm getting from using joystiq lately, stupid annoying full page fucking ads!!!
wootman @ May 9th 2008 1:29AM
i know, its impossible to x em out.
FUCK YOU, INTEL.
BlackFreefall @ May 9th 2008 12:37AM
One thing I would not spend with my tax rebate check:
Gameinformer magazine.
Double J @ May 9th 2008 12:37AM
Okay, I bought the DS. Now what? None of these games work you it you bastards.
Ocere @ May 9th 2008 1:23AM
I work at a gamestop, sadly, and these bastards just showed up one day. It made me sad.
Kspraydad @ May 9th 2008 1:35AM
A DS? Seriously?
Anyone old enough to actually get a rebate check would likely have one by now no?
FOXHOUND @ May 9th 2008 6:57AM
I don't have one, simply 'cause I'm holding out for either a green/black one... or an old-school NES style one like they did for the GBA SP.
And perhaps a better STARFOX game. I dunno.
Mrblonde @ May 9th 2008 3:02AM
I haven't got my tax rebate yet. Lucky puckers.
MASTUR CHEEF (Yes I pay for Xbox live you cheap ass scrub) @ May 9th 2008 3:41AM
There's a tax rebate check coming?
Damn I got to stop playing GTA4
Chase @ May 9th 2008 4:57AM
If possible, one should put most, if not all, of their "stimulus" check into their Roth IRA or savings account (preferably Roth IRA). 'Cause, ya know, one day, you will want to retire - unless you're the Highlander. And if you are the Highlander, I'd like to give you an honorary haircut.
*draws sword, swings*
I AM THE ONE weeeee
FOXHOUND @ May 9th 2008 6:59AM
shhh, don't tell everyone beneficial suggestions like that. The US government's counting on us all to stupidly spend our money so we have to work burger stands and Wal*marts in our elder years instead of retiring properly off our own money since social security'll be dried up long before 2025.
CAPITALISM, WOW! :D
Matt B @ May 9th 2008 9:32AM
Please don't spend your cash on Chinese consumer goods!!!!! That doesn't help the American economy!!!
Luke @ May 9th 2008 2:02PM
But it's so cheap.
GibGirl @ May 9th 2008 11:24AM
My tax rebate? Paying off debt. All of it. Every penny. Not buying a damn thing with it.
Luke @ May 9th 2008 2:03PM
I'm using mine to move and buy gas.
Kendall B @ May 9th 2008 1:30PM
You can almost hear the slurping sound as you read the 'article'
Risky @ May 9th 2008 1:39PM
If you are going to spend your money on games, don't buy them at gamestop.
GAMESTOP SUCKS
WLT @ May 9th 2008 4:06PM
I'm not using my $300 on games. I'm saving it for something I need for the non virtual world.
alex @ May 10th 2008 12:44AM
i am buying guns with it, anyone else doing the same?
