Droppin' in to let these folk know taking Penguin Freeman fashion trend enthusiast Andy McNamara's advice is not a good idea. Buy your mom a nice, big gift this weekend instead.

Why does anyone even read GameInformer or think their reviews carry any weight? It's a GAME STORE MAGAZINE...EVERYTHING IS BIASED SO YOU'LL GO TO THEIR GAME STORE AND BUY STUFF.

Thank you. Maybe Joystiq will listen for once and actually stop posting anything G.I. says.

I'm beginning to wonder if this site is paid by G.I. to be spoken about. Anyone with a hint of journalism should be disgusted with the marketing fabricated claptrap that G.I. is.

@NoHitHair: I think you're missing the point here. Joystiq is ridiculing GI, not endorsing it. And other Joystiq articles featuring GI don't come to mind, either.

So this is your first time to Joystiq? Welcome aboard.

I think most people are going to be spending their rebates on needs; food, gas, shelter. If it were me, I'd buy some gold, silver, or emergency supplies.

If I were you, I'd educate myself on how gold isn't a good investment. Its value doesn't even keep up with inflation most of the time.

Anyone who tells you otherwise is trying to sell you something; and it's probably gold.

I agree. Gold today is inflated for more than the housing market was 2 years ago. And we all know how that turned out..

Gold is inflated because of the Federal Reserve devaluing the dollar. I know gold is not an investment-it's asset protection, and most people have 10-15% of their portfolios in gold or other commodities. Example: I buy gold at $1000 an once and the dollar weakens again making gold rise to $1500. It may look like I've made money, but I haven't. The dollar is simply worth && less. So the $1000 I bought in at is protected against inflation. In other words, I could use my $1000(once) to trade for another one at $1500(once) without spending another $500. Of course the reverse could also happen, taking a loss from deflation, but with the way the market is looking, I doubt it.

Don't you get a free subscription when you get an EDGE card? I'm sure no one actually subscribes to it by choice.

Anyone old enough to actually get a rebate check would likely have one by now no?

I don't have one, simply 'cause I'm holding out for either a green/black one... or an old-school NES style one like they did for the GBA SP.

And perhaps a better STARFOX game. I dunno.

If possible, one should put most, if not all, of their "stimulus" check into their Roth IRA or savings account (preferably Roth IRA). 'Cause, ya know, one day, you will want to retire - unless you're the Highlander. And if you are the Highlander, I'd like to give you an honorary haircut.

shhh, don't tell everyone beneficial suggestions like that. The US government's counting on us all to stupidly spend our money so we have to work burger stands and Wal*marts in our elder years instead of retiring properly off our own money since social security'll be dried up long before 2025.

CAPITALISM, WOW! :D
