Yes, perhaps the game is a little bit dumb and overly testosterone filled. But it does it very well, and has excellent gameplay to match.

If you think there aren't enough because resources are being 'wasted' on overly macho games like this that lots of people still want to play, then go out and start developing them yourself instead of bitching. I will definately be enjoying GOW2, but that doesn't mean I couldn't debate Kierkegaard with you all evening!

Although GoW never was a game I anticipated in the first place, I have rented it and finished it. It was ok by all means but nothing to make me go WOW!!!!! With that aside, I'd like to point out to Lord Thompson that his comment (no matter how trollish it may be) is misplaced. If people want to play a video that has this amount of violence in it, let them be. You have no credibility in this matter and neither do you have the right to bring those people down. With that said, go back to bed Jack Bowser and enjoy your own personal feeling of superiority, while we forget your existence for ever.

Bowser, I read the article you linked and don't really understand what your point is. The guy's biggest criticisms seemed to be that he doesn't have the time or money to play the 360... which could be said for any gaming system.

I dislike MKWii and GTA4 as much as GOW. Mario Kart felt cold, lacking in that Nintendo magic, and GTA hasn't changed one iota since GTA3 on the PS2. It's the smae game over and over again. The same criticism can be applied to Mario Kart.

Two glorious consoles which have attempted something different, while the home consoles unfortunately stick to staidness and bizarre motion gimmicks.

Seriously, I'm with you on that. If it wasn't for say, the actual weight of the device on top of the dead pixels, it'd be a nearly flawless portable media player that also has gaming capabilities.

I'm with you on this. I know I'm no more capable of saying I'm pro-innovation and down putting Gears of War 2, but this game looks more pathetically similar to the first.

Before someone were to jump on me as well, I'd like to make two things clear. First, I am a wii owner, but I haven't used the thing in months. I finished brawl within a week of it coming out, not counting all the challenges, but that's not the point here. On top of that, I just don't want Mario Kart Wii because since the difficulty of most nintendo games seems to have dropped off the charts as of late, I just don't want to bother.

Second is, I played Gears of War to completion over at a friends house when we spent the night there... Thankfully there was another friend because about halfway through the second or third area, I just couldn't play it anymore.

This series has a good plot, art direction... And that's about it. The controls and everything are just unpleasant and honestly, I found it incredibly difficulty to play with how things work.

Maybe it's because I'm either used to more smoothly flowing gameplay... Or maybe it's because I prefer FPS's and a good high mouse sensitivity.

Honestly, few improvements here and there and it looks like all we have is a less advancing version of Halo 2. At least the innovations with that were enough to merit it being good.

Seriously, this is just getting old. You people keep eating up the same old sci-fi/action shooter crap on that system and yet you won't give other stuff a try. I thank those who do but... I can't help but think that the Gears of War fanbase is mostly made up of people who lack the ability to realize, there's a lot more variety out there.

I'm just gonna shut up here before I get accused of being a fanboy or some other crap. All I can say is to people who play mostly Gears of War or Halo 3 or Madden or some crap... Those of you posting here and reading this... Please, play other games. By not expanding your library and giving other titles a try, the standards for gaming is eventually going to be that in order for a game to be good, it has to be a shooting game, set in either a gritty, mob-like corrupted city or a desolate earth like planet where aliens or something similar is attacking...

And then we'll be lucky if we ever see gems like Okami, No More Heroes, Eternal Sonata, Katamari Damacy, Echochrome or flOw to ever grace our consoles once more.

Please... play other games for the sake of the industry.

But he's whining and bitching for what seems to be the sake of it. So the game's lacking a little in plot? So what? I don't play Gears of War for that, I play it because I bloody well enjoy it. If a good plot comes along with the gameplay I'm all for it, but it really is a secondary factor.

What we're forgetting is that you, me, Bowser nor anybody else posting here has played the damn game. Nobody knows how much better the storyline is this time around. That doesn't mean we can't be excited and anticipate what's to come, but it DOES mean that we should hold judgement. Especially when that judgement is full of precursory moans and groans.

I think Bowser was probably the wrong choice of name: Koopa Lawrence would probably be a much better fit.

Lord bowser I doubt you have taste, I doubt you have ever played a game that is noteworthy in anyway or else you would not be dissing Gears of War cause guess what Gears is a good game, I have played alot of good games, games with good design in gameplay mechanics, graphics, character development, storyline development and overall good production values, I kinda know what I'm on about. on top of that Gears popularized the cover system and so has the best cover and aiming system in any game I have ever play, on top of that GTA and Mario kart are good games, although they have their shortfalls, and yes I agree with the mariokart has crap graphics, but I don't agree with the same game released over and over, now I wish I had a point ot what I am saying but I already forgot what I was talking about, oh and in Gears of War humans settled what they thought was an empty planet making the locusts not really that evil, although they are the agressors, they see themselves as being oppressed by the humans. Lastly I Lord bowser did this for flamebait since he replied to a comment with something of no relevance at all, on top of that if you read his other comments you will notice that he is a complete retard who knows nothing about gaming or basic logic.

Kill Zone II does look incredible ...

Did you play the Haze demo? It was actually a very fun game ... I think its going to be a pretty fun game ... The graphics were pretty good as far as the character designs ... I don't see where all the hate is coming from with that game ... The level was short and not a great level but the gameplay and characters are solid ... It doesn't reinvent the wheel or anything but it is much better than Timeshift or Blacksite will ever be ... PS3 owners who want some fun online play have serious options with Haze and Metal Gear Online ...

Killzone II looks better than COD4 at this point

Haze I give an INC. I only played for a short time, and I have not gone back yet. As for KZ2, goto the EU store and DL the trailer from Playstation day, I think its under duck and cover or something like that. Also, Motorstorm2 looks incredible as well.

I don't think LA Noire has a release date set yet ... There is also an "unnamed" PS3 project that Sony has as an exclusive from Take 2 because of letting them out of the GTA timed exclusivity deal ... A wubby would be a baby's pacifier ...
