Video: This is Gears of War 2

Even earlier then promised, here she be in all her glory! Embedded above is the just released (literally minutes old) and very first in-game footage of Epic's Gears of War 2 thanks to the fine folks over at GameVideos. We don't want to spoil the video experience for you, so we advise just jumping in head first. But if you have to know, there's bunch of sexy gameplay, some story talk, chainsaw duels, hostages and neck snapping ... FREAKIN' DELICIOUS. Click play, take it in, discuss and commence your drooling mechanisms. We'll have time for analysis later.

Remember, there is only ONE exclusive GoW2 video being released tonight and this is it. Both Gametrailers TV and the XBLM will be debuting this same trailer today at 2:00AM eastern.

Well, I don't know about you guys, but I just j*zzed myself.

Gears is epic. I've completed hardcore, and almost complete insane. The game is gorgeous, the gameplay is fluid, the content is gripping, and the tactics are genius.

It raised the standards for next-gen video games, and turned Halo 3 from a being "one of the best FPS's ever" to being "a pretty good FPS... but remember Gears?"

GoW2 looks like more of the same, a continuation of the first story while not changing the mechanics. Which is good. You can't fix perfection.

Ah man if I still had gears I'd get you through insane. I beat that shit the first day lol.

Watching that video again, it would appear the devs are spending more time developing the game than they are playing it. It looked like whoever was playing hadn't beaten GoW1 on Insane, or even Hardcore.

And that's good, because I want the game right now. :)

This game will own all games.

OH MY GOD. SO GOOD!

I think it's funny that all the negative remarks are getting blurred out by people who can't stand taking any criticism toward their favorite game. I loved Gears of War and as a Sony fanboy, it was one of the games that made me get a 360 and it was an awesome experience. However I can't help but feel like GoW2 will be little more than the same ol' style of play. You're basically stuck in one position (a big tank w/e) and have to shoot all the enemies on screen before you can progress. I mean it worked for Gears 1, but there are so many clone games out now that they need to refresh the style a little bit. Also the graphics don't look like they're updated at all, just that they're using more of the 360's capabilities to have bigger environments and more things on-screen. I'm sure it will be a blast to play but I don't think it will be revolutionary at all like the original was.
