We know that a vast majority of the gaming media consumers out there have a fairly negative outlook when it comes to pre-orders for popular titles (did anyone really have a hard time finding
Halo 3 last September?), but that's not why we're writing about the recent pre-order listings on
Amazon and
Gamestop for the
next (Barlog-less) installment in the well-received
God of War franchise. What we find intriguing is the March 2 release date listed on both websites --
three quarters earlier than the last rumored launch window for the title. Is this wishful thinking from these two gaming retailers, or could the further adventures of everyone's favorite ashy Spartan hit shelves much sooner than expected?

JK MGS/O is not a simple man's shooter.
But then, if you play a game wrongly, you do badly. Such is the case with MGO. (For the record, I usually came either first or second - mostly first - during the beta.)
If you a play a game the wrong way (such as trying to play Halo 3 as a cover-based game rather than a run-and-gun one), you'll find it less fun and you simply won't do that well in it.
If this is true, next March, I'll be found at the game stores :)

but on the downside, it has little to no replay value, is very linear, and each release has seemed to get noticeably shorter (to me anyway).
i picked up the first one on greatest hits after i saw the scores it got and i was hooked since. preordered the second one and PSP version although i never went and got the PSP one. didnt have time or money at the time, and more games have come out since.
so basically, if you havent played it yet and you see any of them for under $20 grab it cause it's a steal.
the case reeks of testosterone lol.
Lmao

"God of War III delayed until November 2009".
And then the comments will look something like this:
"Delaystation 3 at its finest"
"I heard they are delaying the release to port GOW3 to 360"
"F1rst!!!!1"

God of War 1 - March 22, 2005
God of War 2 - March 13, 2007
God of War: Chains of Olympus - March 4, 2008
God of War 3 coming out March, 2009 would really fit the pattern coming exactly 2 years after GoW2.
I believe that date, especially when it says on the back of the PSP booklet: coming soon, 2009.
