Rumor: CoroCoro Comic reveals Pokemon Platinum

Cash cow -- Nintendo chooses you! As they so strongly hinted, it appears from this scan that CoroCoro Comic magazine has revealed the next Pokémon game from Nintendo, called Pocket Monsters Platina (Pokémon Platinum).

We can't read the scan (because it is both tiny and Japanese), but TheTanooki's summary of the article describes it as the next game in the Diamond/Pearl series, with Giratina on the cover. It features an online version of the weird Underground feature from Diamond and Pearl, an Emerald-like "Battle Island," and some new forms for critters like Giratina and Shaymin.

According to TheTanooki, Platinum will be out in September in Japan. All of this is classifiable as "rumor" right now, but that scan looks pretty real.

platinum huh? so they finally decided on the final name for the colors/gems.

Wonder how much of a change this one'll be compared to Yellow/Crystal/Emerald.

Ah, Platinum. I couldn't figure out what the third game would be called (Emerald for the third generation games was predictable, for example :P )... I guess Platinum makes some sense, though...

Strongly hinted at? EVERYONE knew a third game would be out for the DS Pokemon series. Everyone and their mother knew this was coming.

They are running out of precious tones to use. At least Platinum is the most valuable one they could have chose. Now everything else from here on out is going to be exotic and more of geological significance, such as Obsidian, Quartzite, and Marble or maybe Granite?

I like the way Giratina looks. It's to the point and looks its weight and height. And it looks like a precious stone series mascot.

The next set... they could be named after... hmm... Pok�mon SunGold and StoneSilver. (maybe remakes of Pok�mon G/S) There won't be a third because they never made WaterBlue, did they?

And yeah, I am bad at names and speculation.

ANOTHER ONE??!! Oh my God. I used to absolutely love Poke'mon when there were like 5 games but now, now theres like 50 different games! How would people know what they would want? Poke'mon is now officially the second most over used franchise next to Mega Man in my book. Never going to buy another game from this series. Its like they are not even trying any more. Maybe if they have a really neat and new feature like give commands through the mic or toss the Poke' Ball with the touch screen or maybe just maybe have a different character design and layout of the land ( I mean change the physics so your not doing a over head perspective.)

The entire 4th generation takes good advantage of the DS and the Wii's wifi capabilities.. Thats far from 'not even trying any more'.

Your 'book' is shit. Pokemon is an easy money maker for nintendo but each game was an improvement over its predecessor. Unlike the initial run of Mega Man.

Pokemon Platinum is a name for a pokemon silver remake not a sequel or changed diamond pearl its really bad they could make more money with a silver/gold remake than this one coming its ugly this game isnt going anywhere who cares about a pikachu following you who cannot evolve or a special suicune event in crystal or the battle thing from emerald or this shit from diamond pearl guys i prefer red than yellow silver than crystal ruby than emerald remember steven the champion from ruby well now in emerald the champion is wallace and the leader of the 8th badge is some retarded dude cmon guys platinum will be shit WE WANT A POKEMON SILVER REMAKE yes WE im not the only one who think like me anyways do not have a good day

1. All that is listed at the top of this page
2. Volkner is no longer gym leader
3. Anew form of Regigigas too
4. Dialga and Palkia Will be available for capture
5. The male character has new clothing (the female is unknown)
6. There is a new battle scene

I'd agree with Tristan; if anything, they'll titles which won't be as precious, or what not.

Silver, Gold and Platinum - the three main minerals.
Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald and Diamond - rare and expensive stones.

Not too sure on a pearl's price.

Marble or Quartz would be a highly educated guess as to their next title... who knows? Maybe Santa. =/

so, they are actually making a platinum version? first off, that sucks, cuz now i gotta change the title to my pokemon fanfic series (Bronze and Platinum) and i spent a long time trying to come up with those names (even if it doesn't looklike i did...)! second, platinum sounds like it should go with the precious metals, like gold and silver, not diamond and pearl. So if would help if they made a remake for gold and silver for that (since i've wanted them to remake those for a long time now; they were my favorire series!)

Nintendo reserved two new pokemon titles, DuskGold and DawnSilver, and people say that they will be remakes of G/S/C
