Rumor: Kid Icarus Wii details, concept art revealed

For a game that hasn't even been formally announced, there sure seems to be a lot of information circulating about the Wiicreation of the celestial NES action-platformer, Kid Icarus. For instance, Kombo.com (not to be confused with Zombo.com) recently posted a veritable cornucopia of concept art for the rumored title, as well as some heretofore unannounced deets. Apparently, Pit has been "cursed for thousands of years for a crime" and has become a fallen angel -- those mature themes seem to resonate through the conceptual drawings, available on Kombo's site.

We're not sure if this new media is legit, but Kombo did break the rumor that Factor 5 was working on an Icarus title in late January. Perhaps they do indeed have an inside source -- though it's just as likely that their early plot details could have rolled off their own forked tongues. Check out the images, and judge for yourself.

You can see the line of reasoning though, just listen:

Kid Icarus = Kid + Icarus

Icarus = Greek Fable = Tragedy

Tragedy = Tragic

Kid + Tragic = Emo

And that is how we come to the current concept art for kid Icarus.

But those are fakes... aparently, Retro or Factor 5, together with Nintendo, are working in Kid Icarus, and I really doubt those companies would make that shitty art.

This is apparently from Factor 5.

Evidently, Factor 5 made this stuff to show to Nintendo as their way of getting Nintendo to LET them make Kid Icarus.

So for my money, between this and what IGN has been saying, a Kid Icarus game sure sounds like it's coming.

...that said, it had better not look like any of this stuff. It's not bad it's just...not Kid Icarus.

I actually think the SSBB Pit looks rather boring and unoriginal. While I'm not a fan of this particular design, I hope they come up with an interesting concept.

I think the Pit design in SSBB is much more appealing than this garbage. It may be more 'cartoony/kiddie,' but at least it doesn't make me want to punch myself in the face.

Alright, a little sense of reason here. Yeah, the art direction of this is supposed Icarus looks terrible and same-y. But let's hold out judgment, if this is indeed real, because this game could be the next Metroid Prime. I trust Factor 5 and trust they wouldn't mess this up. Come on, Nintendo is behind this, too. Do you think they'd let Icarus suck after the cult following this series has adopted?

The tattoos (scars?) look well done, and overall manages to give off a good older vibe, but seem to stay relative to the kind of period it's set in.

Some of them look futuristic(?) and totally out of place, like the one in the main photo and this one:

But this could all just be another big rumor or something, and we could all be getting angry for nothing.

I am impresed,those fans do know how to make art.
Those can be based on a real deal if the story is ture,or just be fake shit rumor but i cant know right now,but i DO hope its just fake.
The "Mature" KI doesnt look like,well,a kid or like the old style how ive heard it was(since never played the original) but mostly,i dont want ANOTHER emo-bad attitude kid in a world that doesnt understand him,charged crimes he didnt do antihero blah blah.
It can be Mature but still good people,the key is to treat the audience like they arent kids.
