Burnout 'Bogart' update barrels back to Live
Unbeknownst to us Earthdwellers, a week in Paradise is like really long. 19 days after Criterion assured us that its update to an update would be released "in around a week's time" (by May 2, at least), Burnout Paradise's "Bogart" content has been reissued for Xbox 360 and freed of any totally un-paradise-like frame rate issues. The revised update will auto-download for players connected to Xbox Live. Next up: "Cagney."

Do you like Phil Collins? I've been a big Genesis fan ever since the release of their 1980 album, Duke. Before that, I really didn't understand any of their work. Too artsy, too intellectual. It was on Duke where Phil Collins' presence became more apparent. I think Invisible Touch was the group's undisputed masterpiece. It's an epic meditation on intangibility. At the same time, it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceding three albums. Christy, take off your robe. Listen to the brilliant ensemble playing of Banks, Collins and Rutherford. You can practically hear every nuance of every instrument. Sabrina, remove your dress. In terms of lyrical craftsmanship, the sheer songwriting, this album hits a new peak of professionalism. Sabrina, why don't you, uh, dance a little. Take the lyrics to Land of Confusion. In this song, Phil Collins addresses the problems of abusive political authority. In Too Deep is the most moving pop song of the 1980s, about monogamy and commitment. The song is extremely uplifting. Their lyrics are as positive and affirmative as anything I've heard in rock. Christy, get down on your knees so Sabrina can see your asshole. Phil Collins' solo career seems to be more commercial and therefore more satisfying, in a narrower way. Especially songs like In the Air Tonight and Against All Odds. Sabrina, don't just stare at it, eat it. But I also think Phil Collins works best within the confines of the group, than as a solo artist, and I stress the word artist. This is Sussudio, a great, great song, a personal favorite.

American Psycho rules. The book is WAY more graphic than the movie, but they're both excellent

I'm getting lost with all those updates. Bogart is the one that just fixes a bunch of obscure bugs and doesn't actually add anything to the game, right? As far as I remember, Cagney is the first one we should really get excited about, and it's not coming for a while, right?
wickedpheonix @ May 12th 2008 5:32PM
Bogart = bug updates, out now.
Cagney = new game modes, 1 new car, new car skins, bug updates, minor game mechanic changes, end of June
Davis = night time + bikes, mid or late August
Eastwood = Island(s), Fall.

I had understood that starting with Cagney, we were getting one new island per update, but admittedly, I wasn't paying attention. That was just too good. I guess we're only getting them in the last update, if we ever get there.
Their plan seems too good to be true, and I wouldn't be surprised if EA pulled the plug on all this DLC before we can get our hands on it, of they realize they're not making that much money off of it. As much as I like this idea of releasing tons of stuff through DLC, I'm not convinced that enough players will care to make it worth the effort on Criterion's part.
Do we know what we'll be paying for and what we're getting for free?

So far they have stated it is all going to be free...
