I'll wait and see how this custom track stuff works out. If it's just something that reads an MP3 and puts out whatever notes it thinks fits, it's going to be a novelty at best.

I couldn't agree with you more. Harmonix has said a custom track list is something they want for RB2, and I highly doubt the guys over Activision have nailed it where it works flawlessly. It is nothing but a gimmick to try and pull the millions of RB fans away.

Ugh, I wish I could just be done with GH, but if LP is going to be doing more than just 1 or 2 songs I might have to pick this up.

Same here, I was kind of hoping they'd move to Rock Band or something, but here I'll be picking up another copy of GH.

I'm not sure I'd trust Neversoft doing notecharts for drums. If the GH3 notecharts are any indication, they probably won't even try to differentiate snares from hats from kicks etc etc and just have you randomly hitting things.

JUST BECAUSE WE'VE HAD WEEKS OF CRAPPY DLC FROM ROCK BAND DOESN'T MEAN WE HAVE TO START LIKING ACTIVISION. BE STRONG GUYS, BE STRONG.

Actually, I was holding down the SHIFT key. Dude, whatever you think about the Mother Hips and Blondie, they aren't selling well. Check out this website if you don't believe me http://www.dlcstats.com/. You can see what really sells, regardless of the niche bands you happen to enjoy.

Im looking forward to checking out that 'vocals guitar' that sounds interesting. In all seriousness, us aussies havent even gotten our hands on Rock Band yet and its looking like september now. So if these two go head to head it might be a tough choice.

Guitar hero, you had me at custom track creation.......and then you throw in Sublime and The Eagles.......GH has set the bar, (if all go's well with the track creation......but its not really "Guitar Hero" if it has the rest of the instruments is it?

Its lookin like i'm gonna buy it....i can only pray for some Led Zep now.......I was wishing for the Eagles and Sublime too though, so should be pretty sweet....

If I can't use my Rock Band peripherals then I'll probably have to pass. I really don't need a 3rd guitar even if it has an effects pedal, and I certainly don't need another plastic drum set.

Sounds great so far, no reason why Rock Band & Guitar Hero can't coexist. Competition is good.

this is GAY! I was hoping that The Eagles would come to Rock Band; and Van Halen, Linkin Park and Sublime?!?! I don't wanna have to spend ANOTHER $169 to play their tracks. Just give it up Activision, either that or allow Rock Band instruments to work with GH4 (they're better anyway)

I am not really interested in Activision's take on Rock Band. If the Boss Battles in GH3 are any indication of what they are going to "improve" in Rock Band than I think we should all stay away. I guess I will have to see what it is like when it comes out though. I wonder what came of the whole MTV holding the patent for a drumming game. I guess if Activision is including the drums in GH4 than it is a non issue.

Well I do have to say that at least they aren't giving up just yet. Seems that custom track creation could be the one thing that separates the two games, since we all know that RB is much better of a game experience overall. I will definitely rent it to be safe though..

i dno why everyone complains,
some people like guitar hero more than rock band and some like rock band more than guitar hero.
they're both good for different things, and thats the truth.

now im dead happy to hear some more gh news as i love the series to bits but i also will be picking rock band up when it releases next week here:) cos i also like music rythm games in general!

Idiots...Why any of you would hope for the demise of one of the franchises is beyond me. Just look at what happened to baseball, basketball, and football once EA or 2kSports reigned supreme in their respective sports.

GH4's custom track list is just a come back for not having vocals in the game. Without the vocals, how is it going to be a true party game? What kind of band do you know of that does not have a frontman? Lame. In my opinion, having a 4 man line up is better than having just 3 without a singer. Besides, rumor has it that RockBand 2 will have a custom track list as well.

I'm hoping the GH4 guitar has the solo frets as well as the basic frts.Thats one of my favorite things about Rock Band is those frets.Makes it feel more like you're actually playing a real guitar when you can move back and forth between the 2 sets.if its like the other GH guitars and only has one set of frets,I'm out.
