Speaking to
VideoGamer,
The Force Unleashed Xbox 360 and PS3 producer, Cameron Suey, has said that LucasArts is planning a demo of the highly anticipated stormtrooper torture sim, just in case there are some weirdos out there who aren't sold on
playing as Darth Vader. "I'm not certain about the specifics, but we definitely want to get this game out into people's hands," said Suey. "There are people who are excited about it, who are going to play it right away, whether they play it (the demo) or not."
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed hits, chokes and levitates just about every platform in the galaxy on September 16th in the United States, September 17th in Southeast Asia and Australia, and September 19th in Europe.

I hope so. Not enough games put out demos early. It's not that demo that hurts the game sales, it's the bad game, etc.
tmacairjordan87 @ May 12th 2008 9:17PM
A bad demo can crush a game's sales though. Before the haze demo i was considering getting it, now I probably won't even rent it.
Vegnagun bwf @ May 12th 2008 9:30PM
I haven't played the demo yet, but I could have told you it was average-bad a long time ago.
Tiptup300 @ May 13th 2008 12:32AM
It just feels generic which is a let down. They were probably going for graphics, which isn't to go for if you own a non-hd tv.
Esat Dedezade @ May 13th 2008 5:59AM
This is not relevant to the first post but I thought I would put ouw a warning for those of you scrolling down this comments section for the first time today.
BEWARE: Co - Rabid Wii fanboy whose comments (by the time you read them) will be completely whited out. If you so desire to read them simply ctrl + A to select all.
Try not to laugh.
That is all.
fred @ May 13th 2008 9:54AM
Only people whiting him out are douchebags like you, esat. From what I've read he hasn't made any comments worthy of whiting out while the retards like john mcpoop get voted up for banging their head on the keyboard.
John McPoop @ May 13th 2008 11:32PM
@Fred
I guess your another Wii-ophite
Fernando Rocker @ May 12th 2008 9:07PM
Me wants =p
Looks so good. There's an article that came out today, saying that Lucas Arts stated that the will not be releasing to many Star Wars games, but they are focusing in releasing less Star Wars but with a much better quality. Sounds good to me.

What are you buying it for Fernando? Just wondering if I'll get an answer I didn't see coming.

*Crosses fingers on a new Jedi Knight game*
Fernando Rocker @ May 12th 2008 10:24PM
I'm getting the 360 version. Every multiplatform title goes to the 360.
Co @ May 12th 2008 10:35PM
God help you Fernando.
noskillbassist @ May 12th 2008 10:38PM
Fernando is that you in your avatar?
Fernando Rocker @ May 12th 2008 10:50PM
Yes, I'm Viewtiful Joe.
John McPoop @ May 12th 2008 11:15PM
Of course your getting the 360 version over the gimped Wii version. No offense but the Wii version isn't even the same game as the PS360 version. The one thing they did add to give it some appeal is the fighting game mode. Other than that it's not even close to the same game. Any multiplatform owner who purchases the Wii version is probably unaware of the differences in the versions. The version simply doesn't stack up in this situation or any situation. Its not a knock its just not capable of the same graphics and physics as the other two consoles. So, unless someone just wants the fighting game mode there is no point.
Co @ May 12th 2008 11:38PM
Oh look its Poop, the middle aged troll whom wishes what could have been in his life....
Maybe everybody isn't into the certain aspects of what the 360/PS3 version offer opposed to what the "gimped" Wii version brings to the table.
OMG TEH GRAFFIX R TEH SUXXXORRZZ!!1 get a fuckin grip man seriously. Obviously the Wii having inferior hardware specs isn't "gimping" sales at all.
John McPoop @ May 13th 2008 12:06AM
Co, are you upset?
I didn't say the Wii version was going to be a bad game. I simply stated the obvious truth. As far as a multiplatform title it doesn't stack up. I guess your so blinded by your fanboy light that anytime you even get a whiff of a Wii criticism you go into attack mode. Its actually pretty funny to someone so obsessed with defending the indefensible.
I never said anything about Wii sales so I don't know where that came from. I never even said the graphics sucked. Actually, you said that. I simply stated an obvious truth that it doesn't stack up to the other two consoles.
My comment was far from trolling. In fact, it was related to the reply chain in question so again your point is null and void. Your unwarranted personal attacks really show your own insecurities. Keep it up though because its what we have all come to expect from you.
What did I say that was false?
John McPoop @ May 13th 2008 12:14AM
@Co
Universal truth is not measured in mass appeal ...
mutd1999 @ May 12th 2008 9:24PM
@ Nuke, you don't even play JKA anymore...why would you want a new JK game? :P
NukeAssault @ May 12th 2008 9:40PM
Why wont you let me have nice things. ='(
Jeff @ May 12th 2008 9:32PM
Guys I'm sorry to let everyone down. They showed this game off at Comic con and it looked Terrrrrrible. After they were done showing it, Seth green actually took a mic and tried to say that he had played it and it was better than the videos they were showing.
Example of terrible. Destroying a tie fighter and it breks into 2 pieces, with fire that looks like its from the original half-life. Or hitting a storm trooper with a light sabr 5 times and he gets back up.
tmacairjordan87 @ May 12th 2008 9:38PM
Sure you weren't looking at the wii version? (I'm serious here it would make sense if true since it's weaker)
Co @ May 12th 2008 10:36PM
tmacairjordankobebryantpaulpiercekevingarnettdwighthoward,
shut the fuck up.
tmacairjordan87 @ May 12th 2008 10:56PM
It was an honest question unless you're just learning now that the wii is far less powerful than the other two systems in which case I'm sorry for ripping your blinders off.
John McPoop @ May 12th 2008 11:21PM
I have seen videos and they added advanced 3 pronged physics to the PS360 versions. It must have been the Wii, PS2 or PSP versions. From what I have seen the Wii and PS2 versions do not follow the same story arc as the PS360 version nor do they have the same physics and graphics capabilities.
Looks like Co wants to take his ball and go home ... Poor little baby did someone hurt your feelings?
You know the truth is the Wii is not capable of the same things the PS360 are capable of. No matter how much you imagine that it will never be true. For better or worse the Wii's power will only be tapped by exclusives and 1st party titles.
kanedas @ May 13th 2008 8:39AM
@McPoop, both sides (PS360 and Wii) have their limitations. And the PS360 versions are not always superior. Look at Ironman (I know, bad example ;-)) or PES 2008 (good example). It isn't about the grafix, it's about the games.
On the subject, I'm not interested in this game, neither on my Wii nor on my Xbox 360.

finnith @ May 13th 2008 8:03PM
Vote yes for KOTOR 3
Jeff @ May 12th 2008 9:56PM
No, it was either 360 or PS3. They showed some of the wii/psp/ps2 stuff afterwards.
I hope I'm wrong but...
Kujel @ May 12th 2008 9:57PM
I've been interested in The Force Unleashed for a while I'd love to give a demo a whirl.
JetPogi @ May 12th 2008 10:17PM
This is a definite rent for my 360.
umm....hello??? @ May 12th 2008 10:30PM
...am still looking forward to this game, but I'll probably rent it since it's not really a genre I enjoy playing alot.
ps- in semi-related news I just saw SpeedRacer today and the preview before the movie was for StarWars: TheCloneWars which is an animated feature film coming this fall.
Korova @ May 13th 2008 8:06AM
Wat, what, wharrrrt! A long SW cartoon! Rock. Was there a colon in the title followed by "The Return of Jar-Jar"?
SWAT Kats are back! @ May 13th 2008 6:27PM
Sadly they decided to forgo the Tartakovsky-Samurai Jack art style, and are (surprise, surprise) doing something with 3D CG effects
finnith @ May 13th 2008 9:26PM
I liked the old animation style, the new one, not so much. It looks stupid.
j.howlett @ May 13th 2008 12:09AM
i want them to release a ps2 demo through psn just because i have a 60gig and saw all the platforms its releasing for.
ThePremierAssassin @ May 13th 2008 12:17AM
Can't wait...
I wonder which version will be the best version? 360 or ps3?
Also Multiplayer? PRETTY please?
SWAT Kats are back! @ May 13th 2008 6:28PM
Multiplayer is Wii version only, AFAIK
Optimaximal @ May 13th 2008 7:43AM
I can't play this because my PC didn't cost me $4000 :(
Korova @ May 13th 2008 8:07AM
Is this going to be like KOTOR or like something else? I am very interested and I hope it has a good multi.
SWAT Kats are back! @ May 13th 2008 6:30PM
It'll be interesting to see where this game goes. Some reports look like all kinds of win, their demonstrations on all platforms so far have looked good, but common user reports are coming back mixed
Duff_B @ May 14th 2008 6:04AM
A demo would be a great idea - so long as they put it out there before the game is released... Demos only hurt sales if the game is rubbish! That should hopefully be incentive to iron out any problems.
Bibbly53 @ May 15th 2008 10:22AM
Metastasis ahoy!
The problem I have with "games like this" *GASPS* are that the developers hold certain aspects and details back. What do I mean?
Take the material articulations for example... rewriting the script to avoid clipping, frame rate... etc. They hold some details back. USUALLY.
I'm not going to commit anything libel about this unreleased title as of yet, but I will say that if this title is as action packed and entrenched in fun as I'd hope, then they made a good rental.
