Rumor: Sega publishing Platinum Games ... games
Oops! Looks like some Sega news slipped through the grip of an embargo. The now-removed report detailed an agreement between Platinum Games – the development studio born from the ashes of Capcom's much-loved Clover Studios – and Sega, who will publish three of the developer's titles. Those three games are Bayonetta, directed by Devil May Cry creator Hideki Kamiya, featuring a female protagonist with "guns on her feet" (finally!); a DS sci-fi RPG titled Infinite Line; and an "ultra ultra violent" Sin City-esque Wii game titled MadWorld. There's a good chance we may hear more during Sega's Gamer's Day event on Wednesday but, for now, consider this one a rumor.

I misread "ultra ultra violent Sin City" game as an "ultra ultra violent SIM City" game.
And now I'm a little disappointed, because that sounds like a fantastic concept.

The Wii game sound very interesting...
Any chance that this ex-Clover guys can work on Viewtiful Joe 3?
=p
Noshino @ May 12th 2008 10:24PM

"...and an "ultra ultra violent" Sin City-esque Wii game titled MadWorld."
All around me are familiar faces...

This is the description of the game:
A Wii game called MadWorld. ...it’s, “Black and white Sin City graphics, with red blood. Ultra ultra violent. Fatality moves like shoving a post through someone’s head. Chainsaw on your right arm.”
Nice!

Bayonetta's "guns on feet" concept brings a whole new meaning to the term foot fetish.

Zzzzz.... let me guess, the Bayonetta chick jumps up into the air and endlessly shoots monsters while hovering.

I wish there were words that existed in the english language to describe how FREAKIN' AWESOME these games are guaranteed to be, but alas! Such words of win would crack the universe in half!
If they say one of them is a spiritual successor to God Hand, I think I might die of excitement before the game comes out.
...lucky, ghosts can play video games, too.

Welcome back clover now Platinum games. And to Capcom things are probably going to get ugly there if all these games do good.

It's great to still see Sega taking on a couple of risks. They've received a bad rep of late, but I still feel they're the best publishers/developers in the industry. And I'm sure with Sega, somehow, involved these three games will be amazing. SEGA!

I always get excited when I see Sci-Fi and RPG together.
But hell, from these extremely vague and short descriptions, they all sound pretty damn awesome.
