Well, they don't appeal to everyone under the sun, but there are those out there that care about 'em, so here we go with the niche sequels. EA obviously got wind of Tony's passing, and has now announced that they have a sequel to skate in the works, but haven't given any other details than that. Seems they felt the need to acknowledge the death of their rival in some small way.
The second game marks the return of the Formula 1 Racing franchise, with Codemasters using their expierience on DiRT and Race Driver: GRID to bring out an F1 game based on the 2009 season.

Dirt is awesome but on Grid it is too easy to spin out...that works well on a dirt racing game but not a grand prix style racing game and on an F1 game it'll be even worse. They need to tweak it better to each game. However the menus and presentation system on the games is epic IMO. Best use of menus and on screen text I think I've ever seen in a game. Very well done.

This is not GRID: F1 Edition. Codemasters made ToCA too, and look how different the handling in GRID is.
Yes, epic menus. I especially like the audio names.

I can agree with you to a small extent. The trick is a little thing in every racing game ever made...throttle management. Just don't slam your damn index finger on the right trigger and you should be fine. Not giving you shit though just try to be easy on the throttle like in a real car lol.

Awesome news about Skate. The original is my most played game on 360.
If they can just create a new city, improve the character editor, include the ability to walk and climb stuff and improve the replay editor to include a free camera and create movies from various clips.. I will probably play this one even more.

This is great news. F1 is actually reasonably popular in the USA too, particularly amongst enthusiasts of driving games, so I'm happy to hear this news.
