This Wednesday: Assault Heroes 2 shoots everything on XBLA
We're afraid the sequel to Assault Heroes is still not an open-ended, city-dwelling game where you're tasked with punching firemen and war veterans. Sierra Online's Assault Heroes 2, which is scheduled to demolish the Xbox Live Arcade lineup this Wednesday, is very much in line with 2006's omni-directional shooter, though we suspect we won't be able to make jokes about a broken multiplayer mode this time.
Instead, we'll have to deliver punchlines that involve the sequel's more destructive weaponry, ability to hi-jack enemy vehicles and high volume of "relentless enemies and outrageous bosses." And sometimes, it has all of that, with two-player co-op ... in space! It's yours for 800 MS Points ($10).

Man, Assault Heroes came out in 06?! Where has the time gone?
Goblin Cheese Master @ May 12th 2008 1:46PM
Man, remember when the Spring brought, well, nothing? Now even the casual stuff is looking good.
Professor Lario @ May 12th 2008 1:57PM
Are you serious? GTA JUST launched...
Goblin Cheese Master @ May 12th 2008 2:22PM
That was actually my point - that Spring/Summer used to suck for games. Now the offseason has GTA4, MGS4, etc., plus some pretty decent looking arcade stuff...
Professor Lario @ May 12th 2008 2:27PM
Then we are in agreement sir. : )
JS Beckerist @ May 12th 2008 2:27PM
Yeah not this spring, but in spring's past they generally are pretty weak-sauce on releases.
Not this year (GTA4, XBLA games, WiiWare, Mario Kart, MGS4...)

Shoot... I thought we were finally supposed to get Bionic Commando Rearmed this week?

Still waiting on the online play in the original to get fixed. I will be avoiding this sequel until then. I can't believe I paid $10 for this.
Blue_Falcon @ May 12th 2008 3:42PM
100% agreed.

Ohhh so my 360 can crap out again and I won't own the game anymore once I get a new Xbox?
No frickin deal.
PS: This will be a good game but fix the damn DRM.
Jonah Falcon @ May 12th 2008 5:12PM
When your 360 is replaced with another one with a difference serial #, you have to call in to let them know your new 360's # is different. Easy as pie.

If my plans for getting some of my games used come to fruition, I'll be spending more on downloads than disc games this year. Oh, downloadable content, you drain me.

The co-op online play in AH1 was totally fixed, months ago! Get the update.
