"I want costomer service reps that know what they are doing."
Don't get your hopes up. Things are only going to get worse with customer support. Hell, I used to work at a call center that took Xbox calls since the days of the first Xbox, but in October/November they outsourced it all to a bunch of retards in the Philippines.

Achievements are part of your gamertag/profile, and that could be shipped over from the Xbox, and I can't see a reason why you wont be able to for the 720.
The big question is will the next box have backwards compatability, and the ability to transfer saves if it does.

Microsoft said a long time ago that they would continue it with the next console.

Yeah, I know that only Sony has actually come out and said they plan on a 10-year lifecycle, but I could swear I've read Microsoft execs say they expect the 360 to have longer than the usual 4-5 year span. I'll Google it when I have a little more time to kill and I'm not at work.
It seems to me that Microsoft completely used the XBox just to position itself in the market. It got its foot in the door and got the 360 out as soon as it could.
With a solid footing in the marketplace, I don't see the need to produce a new console after only five years. It just seems like a slap in the face to the consumers.
Besides the hundreds (possibly more than $1,000) of dollars spent on the console and games, we're just now starting to see the consoles hit their strides with the games. I just can't imagine being ready for a whole new one in only 18 months.

They'll roll over, 100% guaranteed.
It'd be cool if you could view your TOTAL score on the card, and then see two seperate scores in closer look: 360 and 720 points, then the typical breakdown you see now.
Full backward compatibility is a must. By the time that thing comes out, people will probably still be playing a lot of Gears of War 2 and Call of Duty 5 (assuming it's a hit, 4 if not) and who knows what else.
It almost feels too soon, but I was around 14 when the PS2 came out and still in school, so it just seems like the PS2 lasted 12 years to me when it was really just about 6.

I hope they use one of the 4th gen. disc formats -_-...
HVD(Holographic Versatile Disc) Can theoretically hold up to 3.9 Terabytes
PCD(Protein-Coated Disc) Can theoretically hold up to 50 Terabytes...
Please for the love of God find a way to use one of these 2. It would blow anything else away.
