See tons of new Fable 2 screens
29
There's nothing that really makes these new Fable 2 screenshots and concept art from Microsoft's Gamers' Day stand out from others than we've seen, but that doesn't mean they're not a delectable eye treat. We've got 16 new ones and a box shot just below.
Sadly, we didn't get what we were really hoping for from the event: A release date more concrete than the nebulous "Holiday 2008" it's currently saddled with. Ah well, there's always E3.

yeah Fable showed so much promise, only to deliver crap. This one looks like it will be better, hopefully it will. But what I really want is for Peter to bring back BC. I saw a pre-pre alpha build at a conference back in 2003 and it left my jaw on the floor.

I honestly can't look at a screenshot of Fable 2 without being reminded of the 'In Defence of Bestiality' song from Consolevania. If you don't know what I'm talking about you can see it here at about 3 minutes in.

I'm worried that this may affect my enjoyment of the game whenever it may be released. Does look lovely though.

I'm assuming that was for the guy above me.
The only thing I really said that qualifies as opinion was that it 'looks lovely'.
I've never understood either why people need to constantly state that other people have opinions. Like saying 'in YOUR opinion' is some sort of productive counter argument. We all know whose opinion it is because, get this, he said it. I don't think he was claiming to have discovered a universal truth or expressing the opinion anyone else. Instead of just claiming it is his opinion which is a waste of everyone's time try making a counter point or something.

with a real console Link could have looked like that.. game probably would have still been a bore, but at least it would have looked good.

To me, this has a lot to do to make up for the first one. I had it for xbox but hated the controls, i later got it for PC but hated how boring it was. It just felt like many games i played before mashed up together in a wacky microsoftesque way. Felt pretty generic.

That fat guy with the mohawk looks awesome. Are those character models or art concepts?

I have a feeling this game will be delayed. Microsoft will really push Gears 2 around the holiday period, and I imagine they're going to want a big release to go toe-to-toe with Killzone 2 in February...

You act is if Killzone 2 is proven and known commodity among the mainstream gaming public.
It doesn't even look head and shoulders above everything that has been released if you look at the new gameplay videos since it has been delayed so much.
You need to understand that Playstation fans around the world are not known for their overzealous love of shooters.

Resistance sold really quite well, Call of Duty sold great, Rainbow Six sold some decent numbers, and Haze (however disappointed Joystiq seems with it) will probably do well.
It's not an entirely FPS-free void. I can see Sony putting a lot of marketing behind Killzone, and if it's a solid game it will sell.
Who knows what's going to happen? I don't, I'm just hypothesising.
