I'm loving Defend Your Castle and Lost Winds. Bring it on, Wii Ware!

Defend your castle is bleh. I don't like it at all. In fact I might go so far as to say I hate it.
Lost Winds on the other hand is pure gold. Just soooo good.

It's like not realizing that you're getting addicted to Animal Crossing.
Those were dark times.

I hate the crystal chronicles series, but lost winds seems pretty cool.

Was there more than one other CC game?
FFCC had a lot of things that annoyed me, but playing it was just a blast. Were you playing solo? I don't know why they even tacked on a solo option, it's pretty lame and completely different. It's all about teamwork.
I LOVED getting gear upgrades and making things from recipes, but I HATED the fact that gear was so limited. One class can wear a helm... only a helm, one can wear boots... only boots, etc.
I also didn't like having to grind the same levels over and over again. Granted, they got harder and sometimes changed a bit.

I'm probably going to get defend Your Castle.
loved the flash game and seems like a better party game than Mario kart.

I really hope that Wiiware starts kicking some serious high-budget developer ass. In one corner, you've got developers selling full-priced half-assed Wii games whereas on the other, you've got developers selling small-priced full-invested games.
Somebody's going to have to be knocked down for the sake of good gaming.

I wonder if Wiiware won't be the magic ingredient for those casual gamers on the Wii.
Its been pretty clear for a while that the Wii audience is really split between the hardcore nintendo fans (who buy every game, if its nintendo) and the casual users who tend to only play Wii Sports and Wii fit.
Personally I think the high price of games must be very off-putting to casual users... and I think, if nintendo markets it properly, these kind of fun, casual, low priced games, delivered right to your console, could be a great way to get those casual users to play more games.
(after all, the big studios seem to have decided to try and catch the casual market by porting over basic games without much investment or effort.. its just they try and charge full price for them!)

"I wonder if Wiiware won't be the magic ingredient for those casual gamers on the Wii. "
Nope. I know a few casual gamers with Wiis, and they don't even know it can get on the internet, let alone how to set it up, and what to do once it is hooked up. I tried getting a friend of mine to hook his up and he was like "I don't see any point. Will that somehow make Wii Sports and SM Galaxy better? No? Then it's not worth it."

We got Lost Winds and the Final Fantasy game (which is strangely addictive) and ran out of blocks before we could get Defend the Castle. Why do you hate money Nintendo?
