Those who wanted to pay extra to explore Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures' lands a little early are probably going to be upset to discover that "early access" is now sold out. A post on the MMORPG's official forums gives little explanation as to why this occurred, but eagle-eyed players who read the fine print point to Funcom having discussed limited availability.
Looks like MMO players will need to find some other game to grind in until Conan officially begins next week.

I still have access to the 'Early Access' feature since I paid for it a couple days ago. I am downloading the client at home right now.

I have the early access however, I cannot find anywhere how to download the client. They haven't made anything really easy.

I am filing a complaint with the BBB.
If you preorderd, registered your key, and had no early access, I urge you to do the same.

Err, sorry, to be clear I am referring to "Early Access USA" only.

I don't know anything about this game, but that dragon is kind of sad looking.

Mostly because it's right wing is the same texture as some of the mountains in the background.

I like this paying for "early access" thing - companies could make a ton of profit that way.
I can see this turning into an upgraded feature of "Earlier Access", where you pay even more to trump those who paid for "Early Access". Or "Earliest Access" which would normally provide players with the initial round of play but that would go to those who paid the premium for "True Earliest Access".

Eh I dont know about profit because the Early Access does give you 10 days of free play time which comes to the same rate you pay for monthly access for days.
Basically 30 days =15$

Kinda reminds me of 'Everquest' for some reason and those are some bland graphics too.

Well yeah it sold out, its the new thing. If WAR does something similar, guess what? I bet it'll sell out. People are always anxious to try the "next great thing" (and I only put that in quotes because it hasn't actually come out yet so who knows how well it will do)

Funcom has been REALLY terrible at communicating to their customer base and this whole selling out thing is yet another example of it. I registered my key as soon as I got it, so I made it in time, but three of my friends didn't.
The game could be pretty fun. Worst case, I spend $50 to play a game that I get bored with in a month. Not really different from buying any other game.

Alot of people play new MMO's to get away from WoW, then after about a month they realize you cant beat WoW and they come back. Its like hotel california you can cancel your account anytime but you cant ever leave!

I guess I fit into this mold. so bored of WOW at this point that I'm ready to jump ship to about any other MMO. However, I keep getting dissapointed by the lack of polish in most of the others.
Tried LOTRO but it was like jumping ship to almost a mirror image. Also this other weird mmo I can't even remember the name of, came out late last year.
Anyway hopefully this or warhammer can offer a game as polished as what blizzard offers. I'm not holding my breath tho. Pretty much the only thing I'm looking forward to is that new mmo square enix announced a while back.

WoW's amount of addiction is in direct proportion to how much one can ignore the bigger picture and focus on what's at hand.
Once I realized that endgame was always going to be the same no matter which race/class I leveled (for a variety of reasons), the game immediately lost appeal for me and became a mundane grind.
There really, really needs to be an MMO that does something, ANYTHING different in endgame than PvP, raid, farm.

These game has a completly new ,more action and interactive based interface, the best grahics(see em in motion) of any MMO ever,a lot of diverse content of PVE or PVP and a very unique atmophere and style.
The classes seem balanced, the char creator is amazing and its got a lot of good content and work done for it.
AOC previews and press articles have just said good things about it,things not any game recieves critics of good quality.
And most importantly IMO is that the Devs really seem in touch with the community as people, costumers and players. If something is going on we know it fast, and if we want something known they listen.
Coming from WOW where the devs are just hidden away from public, and everything works as a secret thing with changes being done or not done without players knowing AOC looks worth the try.
As someone said, its just as buying any random game and just if you like it,keep paying the standard fee,or just leave it.
Seriously,if there was to be a contender to WOW ,it is these game and I believe that it might do the unthinkable .I just read how the Xbox 360 is beating the ps3,and some people said the Playstation empire was forever, but nothing is forever.

I played the beta, it was good, convinced a few friends to buy it so we play.
The gfx are way better than wow and well the game itself is better imo. But then again, I never liked wow in the first place.

Lots of bugs and performance problems, not to mention absolutely horrible balance.
There's some good ideas though. Maybe they'll get it polished at some point.

I have NO idea what you are talking about here... I played through several stages of beta right up until launch and then through Early Access and the only conclusion I can come to from your comment is that you are just plain talking rubbish.
Firstly, this is widely (both critically and publically) regarded as one of the smoothest on-launch releases of any MMORPG to date, both graphically and connectivion wise.
Secondly, Classes are balanced for the end game levels (60-80) and unless you have played at that level extensively, which I doubt very much (and I'm not talking about having a level 80. I'm talking about extensive testing carried out over a lengthy period of time) you can't really comment on class balance ;-)
I am outraged at the arrogance and impatience of people who know little to nothing about MMO development and progression. If you don't like it, lump it. Funcom have obviously done something right as they have broken multiple records with this title ;-)
