Alright, this isn't officially Xbox 360 news, but given Silicon Knights' current relationship with Microsoft, we're fairly confident that it could be. Speaking to TVG at Microsoft's Spring Showcase, Silicon Knights head Dennis Dyack had some hopeful things to say regarding an Eternal Darkness sequel. After noting that Silicon Knights doesn't want to be "pigeon-holed" into any specific genres, he admitted, "There's a strong chance we'll return to it, but there's no announcements yet." This marks the best news we've heard about a possible sequel since 2006. That joyous yet vaguely disturbing sound you just heard was a worldwide nerd-splosion of the highest order.

One of the 10 best games I've ever played. Hands down. I'm so excited at just the rumor of this that I've started crying tears of blood.

Of course, if it were to be made, it would either be a Wii title, not use any of the same characters/names/situations, or cost someone lots of money... seeing as Ninners own the rights. Unless Dyack hinted at one of the latter two scenarios, not sure how this is Xbox news.

It would be easy enough to make a sequel with a different name and characters.
Indeed it may not be an Xbox title, but I still hope it will be (though I'll buy it no matter what platform it's on).

Man that was a great game...one of the major points for the gamecube when I picked it up. Of course I got rid of it after I spent a year waiting for a good game (other than Metroid or Zelda) to come out.
Got tired of going to gamestop and being directed to a small corner with two shelves when I asked where the new Gamecube games were.

This game was one of the major reasons I picked up a Gamecube back in the day. I've never preordered a game in my life, but if it would help this game get developed, I'd put $10 down right now.

Oh man, right on! This was one of the best games I've ever played, and besides the resident evil remakes, was the only reason I bought a gamecube. Actually I played those two games and then sold it haha. Was worth it though just to play Eternal Darkness. I really hope this is true!!

Yes you should. Best ending of them all. Besides, it's just a great game anyway.
