Those "wedges" are called CYMBALS kids.

Oh, and lol @ all the kids acting like they know anything about drums. I saw "symbol" and "cymbol".

Wireless drums? I approve.

The drums look good, rip off or not.

Problem for me is, this better not subtract from the core gameplay of Guitar Hero. I for one never found Rock Band better than Guitar Hero(other than the weekly DLC, which is awesome). Rock Band was a better game in the party sense, but it wasn't at all challenging like Guitar Hero III was. The guitar in Rock Band was unfortunately boring. If Guitar Hero IV starts to get rid of it's main guitar gameplay in favor of multi instruments(it already started to show with the Co-Op unlocked tracks in III)...then I will be sad, since I highly doubt Rock Band will ever bring me as much fun playing the guitar as Guitar Hero does.

I'm sort of confused with the drums. What if you have a drum roll around the set, meaning 4 snare hits, 4 tom, 4 tom and 4 tom hits? Like Run to the Hills? You can't do that with 3 pads. You NEED 4 pads. As much as I like this drum controller concept, the drums alone are going to eliminate certain songs. Plus the hihats are in an akward position. So in essence they have a 6 channel/piece drum kit that is actually more limited then the RB 5 piece set? Hmmm, am I missing something here? I don't think you will be able to use tracks similar to Run To The Hills. I do like the cymbals/hihats being seperate and all though. Not to mention pressure senseitve sensors. You people out there do know what those are don't you?

Hahaha, I love how everybody is so against GH3 because it tried to make things harder by adding more notes than are actually in the songs (ignoring the fact that the songs are played on actual 6-string guitars, so its practically impossible to perfectly replicate a song in the game anyways).

It's not like they intend Guitar Hero games to give you the experience of playing a real guitar, they can add however many fucking notes they want, it makes it better for the hardcore fanbase, and clearly, the guitar hero franchise is pretty sound when it comes to mainstream popularity.

I would prefer a more challenging game than a game that tries so hard to be realistic, but at the same time is being played on unrealistic, fake instruments, which completely contradicts what they're trying to do and keeps them from ever accomplishing it.

With your general logic, the next thing you know, you're going to all be hating Gears of War because a very similar game made it slightly more realistic, because the enemies die from less gunshot wounds, just like in the RL! But everybody will ignore the fact that it's just a video game, and most people would prefer a game where the enemies don't die so easily.

But if your sole reason for hating GH is the fact that they suck ass with DLC, then I agree. They do suck ass, they have a different philosophy of releasing an updated version every year, which some people may like, but I don't. But other than that, with all things considered, you guys really don't have much to complain about when it comes to GH (as long as you introduce some logic into your reasoning).

The sad thing is, this game will be out before Rock Band is in the Rest of the World.

Wow, that was probably the most bought-out article I have ever seen in a magazine. I have NEVER, in all the times I have pounded away on the drums in Rock Band, heard anyone yell SHUT UP. That just sounds stupid, because not only is it not true, you don't tell someone to shut up when they are not talking. The Rock Band equipment may seem not very sturdy at first, but you learn to feel how strong the stuff is, and my Rock Band Stratocaster has taken ten times more abuse than my Les Paul, and it is still working to this date, as the LP has a non-functioning yellow button. I believe that this drum pad is a complete and utter knock off of all the characteristics of Rock Band that has made it much more fun and social than Guitar Hero. I hope the fact that you will be able to play drums in FRICKIN GUITAR HERO will cause people to stray away from the game. Activision needs to take a look at themselves and realize two things:
1) They are the new biggest bitch game company.
and 2) They can't catch up with Rock Band without original ideas.

Man I had this comment for like 10 min and now that I can write it I forget...

O ya, first that IS THE WORLD'S UGLIEST FAKE DRUM SET! I really hope they don't keep the design.

Second it better be RB compatible.

Finally I am going to get game ONLY, and use the RB mic. and drum set (unless its really worth it aka for create-tack mode) cause RB has wireless drums out if you want, and they are making a silencer for their drum set. If I really need the drum set for the creation mode, ill just return my old one. But the noise dosn't bother me.

These kits are 'ok'...but I'm waiting for this 'proto-type' to come out....

http://youtube.com/watch?v=SuDinSqT-pI

In the event the URL doesn't come up after posting, go to Youtube.com and search under:

"Ion Rock Band Drum Prototype"

It'll be the 1st vid listed.

If/when this prototype becomes a reality, it's going to be the only kit to offer 'full realism' when playing...!

Questions:
1) How many songs have been released via DLC since Rock Band came out?
2) How many songs have been released via DLC since Guitar Hero 3 came out?
3) How many tracks are on Guitar Hero: Aerosmith?

In a round about way, I'm trying to find out who will have released more music as of July 1st since GH3 and RB came out. I know DLC is all the rage, but you can't write off the fact that making a whole extra game counts as some work, even if you aren't the biggest Aerosmith fan.

I was immensely excited when I heard that Rock Band would be released for Wii (my lone game system) next month, only to have my hopes shot completely when I heard it would just be a rehash of the PS2 version which, by all accounts, sucked. GH3 may not have been as good for the Wii as it was for the Xbox 360 or for the PS3, but I fully intend to wait for GH4's release - and LEGITIMATE comparisons between it and Rock Band as far as which screws Wii users over less and which has a better tracklist - before I purchase either.

If there's even a chance the Wii version of GH4 is more equal to those for Xbox 360 and PS3 than RB is, I'll await it eagerly.

I don't know how he did it but my friend has two pedals on his Rock Band set working as double bass pedals.. Since he bought a second set of drums off of a friend. And as for Guitar Hero 4... it'll have to wait, Rock Band will forever be my priority... there's no way I'm buying this.

Well, I have RB for the PS2 whichs sucks ass but is still fun to play, disregarding the no DLC, create a character and decent career mode. But if I get this, I'd be selling my RB set and getting GH4 for the Wii, because at least it might have online and DLC, which is something I desperately wanted from RB, but didn't have the necessary 360 or PS3 to support it. But if they can quiet the drums (during the solos AND in real life), make unbreakable cymbols and kick pedals, and add a second kick pedal, I'm definitely buying...even if it means we'll be having Jordan-esque songs in the first tier.

Of course the the extra pads are more 'realistic' but it will take some of the accessibility away from those new to these games IMO. And anyway, the artists confirmed so far suck. Linkin Park. The *shudders* Eagles. DREAM THEATER! No thanks. Harmonix did it first, and I'm doubtful that Activision can top it. Also, unless the song creation feature is amazing and ground-breaking, GH:WT will inevitably be seen as a cash-in.

Here's an original thought: I am going to buy/enjoy playing Guitar Hero IV if I find it fun to play, regardless of the rehashed control system and the fact that it was made by a company which isn't very well liked by fans of its competitors.

Although I think I might just give the whole thing a miss unless they decide to add a pedal somewhere.

Otherwise it might look silly.

I just love the fact that the game is being given crap because
A) It's exactly the same as Rock Band and
B) The drums aren't the same as Rock Band's.

Real brain-smart, general public, real brain-smart.

Not that I'm siding with those pro-skating berk-offs up at Craptivision or anything, but you know.
