Peep this: Viva Pinata card

The feature, while impressive (and early), was temperamental in our demo; however, when working correctly, it will let users share their piñatas by creating a card through the game's website. The camera is surface agnostic so you can print the card out, or stick the image on a forum, save it on your iPod, or just email it to your entire address book (that always goes over well). Check out a shot of the process in action after the break.

Can't see this working to well on the basis that the Vision Camera quality is pretty much summed up as a big hunk of shit.
Mrblonde @ May 14th 2008 10:51PM
I think its good quality. Use it most the time as my PC webcam.
Kellydude025 @ May 14th 2008 7:58PM
Kinda cool i guess.

Reminds me of the e-reader
jynxycat @ May 14th 2008 8:25PM
reminds me of ... the sony camera -_-
gimmick.
Psaakyrn @ May 14th 2008 8:01PM
As opposed to putting it on a blog..... wait.

And so it begins.

Hmm...
*saves for later*

Im pretty sure they could have thought of an easier way to do it, but i guess they didn't want sony the only one to use the eye toy to read cards. Expect a eye of judgement type game on the 360 next year or in the future.

I can't see this as being terribly ... um, good. Why not just release a poker deck. It might actually be useful for something other than the game; like a CD/DVD can be useful as a coaster. No, I don't want to put the CD in the drive to play the game. I want to play the game and have something for my drink so I can play the game for several hours. I don't want to scan cards in, I want to have a unique deck of cards so I can have a bit of extra fun playing a game.
KenC @ May 14th 2008 11:40PM
Whats going to stop someone from getting all the cards and scanning them so we all can print them? All the cards have the barcode and BOOM we all have the pinatas and didn't have to pay anything for the cards.
Psaakyrn @ May 15th 2008 12:25AM
Assuming they're meant to be sold. Inversely, this could be a giant publicity gimmick, in which it's probably far more effective.
andres @ May 15th 2008 12:46AM
apparently you did not read the article in which it states the way it works. We upload our pinata to the website and it makes the card for us so we can share our own pinatas
Bibbly53 @ May 15th 2008 10:28AM
It's like Pokémon, who aren't retarded.
