In all of the 360 excitement yesterday, the system's surly, loner uncle the PC was sort of left out in the cold. We wanted to welcome him back in to the warmth of the Joystiq bosom by letting you know that 360 isn't the only system that Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, Episode One is coming to next week. Eurogamer reports the game will also land on PCs next Wednesday through PA's Greenhouse service.
What's that you say? You probably could have guessed this yourself without our help? Oh, fine, yeah, you're probably right. But look at the PC with his little mug of broth by the fire. He was freezing out there. Cut him some slack.

[Update: Oh, and also, lest we forget, Mac and Linux as well!]

I will bite the bullet and pick up this first installment, as it looks like a lot of fun. Somehow, though, I think I may regret not waiting for the future, discounted bundle.

I doubt it since there's currently no way to access the RSX.

Hooray for the Linux version. It's not the most exciting game that could come to the platform but we Linux gamers (yes, all two of us har har) are happy to gnaw gratefully at any small bone thrown to us. BTW I meant "small bone" as in games ported to Linux so please put that back in your pants.

How is it being distributed on Linux? Steam doesnt support linux.
I see on the playgreenhouse.com site that they show support for Linux but I'm not entirely sure how that works other than I guess you just download it from there as a Debian package (if on Ubuntu). Anybody know the details for sure?

Is this coming to the 360 at the same time or delayed?
I'm currently dealing with the whole license transfer issue with my Xbox. I'm kinda hoping for the "pile o' points" fix instead of the transfer, so this would definitely be a buy for me.

I think this may be the first time I've had genuine trouble deciding where I should get a multiplatform game-- my choices are anywhere except Linux (no box set up for it-- although technically I *could* try running it under X11 in OSX if I wanted to be excessively geeky). As zetta excited as I am for it, though, I'm wondering if maybe the safest bet would be on the 360... I have some pretty big reservations about the Greenhouse service being ready in time. They just announced the trials, what, a few weeks ago? Late March at the earliest. I'm not convinced they've got all the kinks worked out there.

It will run on Linux as a stand alone executable and as long as you run the game under the minimum specs Greenhouse has specified with 3D installed you should be fine.
