Sony sells 9 million PS3s, sets bar (slightly) higher for '08

Installs should be optional and sony should crack down on devs and put leashes on them, cuz they give devs too much freedom and they take advantage of it, but Sony gets nothing out of this. Also, DVD's are already filling up, so at the end of this gen, its gonna be a problem, but u can get around that by just re-using textures and stuff, but u'll start to see more multidisc games, but stil not that many, becuz developers won't want to use more than one dvd.

MS is getting aragont now, but no one seems to notice. Whats funny is how MS sometimes includes the wii in comparisons or leave it out when it makes them look good.

The lead won't last. I had kinda figured that the 360 would hold its ground against the PS3, but the last several months have shown quite the turnaround in the PS3's favor.

MS needs to hold on tight to the lead that they have for as long as they can. There is no question that they will slip into 3rd place in either '09 or even as soon as this year, but once that begins to happen then its going to be a shitstorm for them.

So why aren't you playing those PS1/PS2 classics on your PS2 right now? I don't see why you need to wait for a BC PS3 to do that.

Everyone has different taste ... If the games don't appeal there is no reason to get one ... For me the PS3 exclusives are better than the 360 or Wii ones so it has becomes number 1 in my household, games purchased and in playtime ...

heavenly Sword is an amazing game its just a little short ... Its in the same genre as God Of War but thats the only similarity ... The voice acting and facial animations are top notch ... Best in the industry to date that I have seen ... To each his own ...

..I purchased a xbox because there was no way i was going to pay 600 dollars for a console. I do have rrod to worry about but that 3 year warranty is longer then the 2 year one I get with best buy so I dont see a problem...I look at it like this...I got one headache now and I dont need another one.

Actually the 360 is below the bottom in Japan ... Probably some nationalism going on there ... The PS3 has done as well as the Wii but much better than the 360 in a much shorter time span

So I guess since you go by the handle "snukadaman" your better to comment on whether a system is for a more mature audience ...

The Wii is for the diehards, kids, pre-teens, seniors and families

Its just a better, more advanced piece of technology.

These are things off the top of my head so i am sure I am forgetting some stuff. I am sure some of these things will not be universally agreed upon. These are things that I think makes the PS3 a better console than the 360.

I have hardly touched my 360 since I played through Army of Two. I play my PS3 on a daily basis. In fact, if I had a choice at this point I would not even own a 360 because I never play it.

This does not take into account what Home and future PS3 updates will bring to the table. The only advantage the 360 has is Live and its something you have to pay extra for. In due time the PSN will at the very least match Live and at some point exceed Live. At that point Microsoft will have to give Live for free. If you think your $50.00 makes Live what it is you are mistaken. Live could be the same service it is today if it were free. They charge because people are willing to pay for it. I look forward to Home as should any PS3 owner.

dependable hardware -- WOW! Had to nock that one out there didn't you?
SKUs with full backwards compatibility -- Bullshite. Show one current PS3 system with full BC. In case you missed the memo, there arn't any. I don't want to shop eBay for some guys dusty old PS3 with full BC.
Free Online Play -- You get what you pay full. Enjoy quitting your game to send messages, half implimented voice features, and Sony cutting off game servers.
Medical Research (Folding@Home) -- LOL! This is a feature? This is available on the PC, where is should be.
Full Internet Browser (Youtube support!) -- Again, this is on the PC. I use the Wii browser and it sucks balls. WHY do people thing this is a "Good Thing!" I got over this "feature" back in the Dreamcast days.
Blu-Ray Player -- I have no opinion on this since I don't care about HD. Just use your imagination to insert some rant here about how I can get HD movies from XBL Marketplace.
Built In Wi-Fi -- Again, this really isn't a feature. For the people that want to take advantage of it that doesn't have a wireless router, that is just 75 bux more out of their pockets. If they would of made it separate, then the system could come down in price. Also, Sony is in more of a position to offer this over MS because they do make PCs and have the proper ties to chip makers.
No external power brick -- Tell me that after your power supply screws up and you have to pay big daddy Sony to replace it. I had the PS in my PS2 to screw up and it cost almost 300 bux to replace it. Excuse me while I don't let them stick it in my pooper.
easily upgradable HDD that is not proprietary -- This I somewhat agree with, but then again I have to ask... Did Sony know that Blu-Ray was going to suck so bad that they would need to have 3gig installs just to play games? If so, they that could be the reason behind this.

Games for the PS3 Eye -- ...yea... Just like the eyetoy was a huge hit, amirite?

Ability to use any Blue Tooth headset as a Mic -- Why? I find my bluetooth headset to be less comfy as my 360 wireless headset. This is just a way for Sony to keep prices down while making you think they are your friend. If the PS3 was 300 bux, you can bet you wouldn't have this "feature".
Multiple memory formats supported (digital camera card slots) -- Congrats on your overpriced memory reader.
Remote Play functionality with PSP -- I use this and let me say, it sucks balls. Lets forget that the PSP has less buttons than the PS3 controller and no tilt. This is just retarded. It sucks when you use it over the internet, so why have it? If I'm in the same building as my PS3, I'm going to use a TV and not a damn handheld.
Online service that is not locked down (UT3 mods anyone?) -- Since I've never played a modded UT3 game on the PS3, I couldn't comment. All the games I have played have been your normal games with the builtin modifiers. No one knows yet about mods on the 360, but I can tell you no one will miss it. Anyway, UT3 sucks. VIVA LA UT2K4!
Controllers with built in batteries -- You best be joking. Enjoy that controller in 10 years when the PS3 is dieing and you have to keep the controller plugged into the system using that 3 inch charging cable. Built in batteries == fail. Give me something I can replace.
External HDD support -- 360 has this too. I think you're looking for a Wii argument.
Install of Linux if you want -- Yea, but they don't let you have access to the full CPU or graphics chip. That sucks if you are planing on doing anything more than browse the web, which is a "feature" the PS3 can do without linux.
Connect to a Wireless Printer -- Why... WHY?!? Holy shit... WHY DOES THIS MATTER?! IT'S A FREAKING GAME SYSTEM! From here on out, I will not comment on stupid shit like this.

very expensive hobby. sometimes i think i could take up boating or something and spend less money lol. i mean HDTV's, multiple $250+ consoles, multiple $50+ games, routers, high tech cables, high electric bills, controllers, etc. i spend a fortune on this stuff! but i love it just the same.

Trust me...boating is a helluva lot more expensive then video games. I'm considering selling our 27' Sunbridge simply because it now cost over $500.00 to fill the fuel tank and I can burn that in 1 day if I'm seriously screwing off, 2 days just doing normal cruising. After taking it out a couple weekends a month, and looking at my fuel bill (that's not counting the drinks and food), I'm thinking I can spend that money somewhere elese and get more bang for my buck then boating.
