Stubbs the Zombie and Gauntlet coming soon to Xbox Originals
Microsoft's Xbox Originals collection on Xbox Live continues to slowly grow, with two new titles to add to the list next week: Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse, and Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows.
Stubbs the Zombie is an under-appreciated 2005 release from Wideload Games, featuring a satirical film-noir approach to the zombie genre. Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows is, well, another Gauntlet game, this time handled by veteran Doom designer John Romero. Reviews for Gauntlet were, at best, a mixed bag, so Stubbs looks to be the cream of the crop in this Originals installment. Both titles are due for release Monday, May 19 for 1200 MSP each.

Except for rare game you have to be retarded to not go buy a disc copy of these games, which cost less. Most of these original Xbox games are at Best Buy for $10 still.
tmacairjordan87 @ May 14th 2008 4:10PM
but but but but digital distribution is the way to go right? :P
Knight Marquise @ May 14th 2008 5:05PM
Interesting way to put it...and here I always thought you'd have to be "retarded" to want to have to deal with discs, scratching, warping, space, etc, rather then the ease of having it dd to your hard drive and available to play with a couple clicks of the joypad.
Silly Me.

yeah, that's why steam failed so horribly ...
dew it @ May 14th 2008 3:51PM
it would be nice to get some good games...
Jacksons @ May 14th 2008 3:54PM
Of all the titles, they chose Seven Sorrows...?
Roofie @ May 14th 2008 3:56PM
I purchased Seven Sorrows used for about $7 like 2 years ago, and while it was a fun game, it was ridiculously short. Oh, and the enemies constantly respawned (well, they came onto the path from parts of the level that you can't get to) so it didn't have the same feel as the others.
I think it's definitely worth a play for Gauntlet fans, but not an Xbox Original purchase.

Actually, Romero was removed from the Gauntlet project during production because he's a douche. He simply appears as a "Special Thanks" in the credits.

stubbs is terrible. demo it on steam, be underwhelmed. move on.
Burritoclock @ May 14th 2008 4:13PM
I couldn't disagree more. Stubbs is worth 1200 MSP.
Vegeta (aka Ska Oreo) @ May 14th 2008 4:22PM
I disagree. Stubbs was a damn good game. Made even better thanks to co-op.
sicsided @ May 14th 2008 4:12PM
man I love Stubbs
StrangeBum @ May 14th 2008 4:12PM
I'm still waiting for Jet Set Radio Future. I sold my disc way back whenever, and haven't been able to find a copy since. I loved that game and would love to buy it again.
Burritoclock @ May 14th 2008 4:14PM
Ever heard of "The Internet"?

StrangeBum @ May 14th 2008 4:15PM
Oh and I'm excluding ebay and amazon...I just don't prefer shopping on there. I'm real big on instant gratification.
StrangeBum @ May 14th 2008 4:16PM
Shit..beat me to it, but yeah..read above ^^^

"I'm real big on Instant gratification"
"I'm still waiting for Jet Set Radio Future"
Burritoclock @ May 14th 2008 4:20PM
NvM beat me to my next comment...
StrangeBum @ May 14th 2008 4:33PM
Jesus..what's with the a-holes today.
Yeah, I'm 'still waiting' for it to come to the Xbox Originals downloads (you know, because that's what the article is about) and yeah if I can get instant gratification from DLC as opposed to waiting for it to ship I will.
But in this case, as it's not available DLC yet...I have no choice but to wait. Now I'm being an asshole...
/back to work
Burritoclock @ May 14th 2008 4:42PM
Ha, agree I did come off more dickish then intended, I understand liking instant gratification from Downloads, I go that way to, but you know it probably isn't coming out for download for awhile, if ever. If bought from amazon you could be playing it tomarrow afternoon. That was all.
No problems, peace brother.
Zootittles @ May 14th 2008 4:12PM
Say what you will about Stubbs, but it has an awesome soundtrack.
Vegeta (aka Ska Oreo) @ May 14th 2008 4:31PM
fucking agreed.
xrayzwei @ May 14th 2008 4:42PM
what about disc BC getting an update?
it's been 6 months
tcc3 @ May 14th 2008 4:56PM
Didn't they announce that they were basically done updating BC?
Its a damn same too since now well never see PGR2 or Rallysport added to the list.
xrayzwei @ May 14th 2008 5:01PM
Not officially, but if they would just make it official I would stop making so much noise about it.
Abhinav Kumar @ May 14th 2008 4:46PM
gauntlet was terrible. Just awful. After having played the N64 and early PS2 games this one was just depressingly bad. Stubbs was rather fun but is honestly kind of hard to find in good condition at this point (maybe you can find it on ebay, i don't know.) I might just get stubbs from the live service.
