Velvet Assassin to cut throats on Xbox 360, PC this fall
German developer Replay Studios and indie publisher Gamecock dropped a friendly reminder that both studios plan to drape us in tufted fabric and slit our throats this fall, when Velvet Assassin ships for both the Xbox 360 and PC. As a stealth-action game, the title will drop players into the boots of real-life World War II allied secret agent Violette Szab as she goes toe to toe with the German war machine.
Beyond the biographical backdrop and historically-inspired setting, there isn't much known about the game. However, the publisher notes that Velvet Assassin will include "lush, surreal visuals" and "a ground-breaking stealth combat system," both interesting qualities ... though we hope the devs know how difficult blood is to get out of velvet without sending it to dry cleaning.

Wouldn't mind leaving a few stains on her Velvet Ass-...
...Sorry.

Nasty dude, nasty. I feel physically ill.
Anyway, I can't wait to see more of this game. I already own one Gamecock published game and it's great. Hopefully it will be of the same quality.

Batman could totally kick her ass.

Germans making a WWII game. Should have great dialog and perfectly accurate nazi uniforms.
Is Hitler the final hit?

I didnt notice that it was a German developer - and I find that hugely impressive. cannot imagine imagine an American developer making a game about a Vietnamese secret agent going toe to toe with the American war machine.
And finally a bunch of good stealth games. Hope its close to Thief in gameplay,

"lush, surreal visuals" ..... please tell me you were being sarcastic when you said that was an interesting quality. Pong was probably advertised as having "lush, surreal visuals".
A new stealth system is interesting, if done well, but come on, don't pander to the marketing bozos.

Hey, the main character's name is Violette Szabo. Someone's not doing a good proofreading job.

DangerMouse @ May 14th 2008 11:07AM
It's quite a mouthful.

Wow DM, that was funny.
DangerMouse @ May 14th 2008 1:19PM
Thanks. Unfortunately, I'm here all week.

A WWII game? With "morphine" bullet time? And a cover system? Played entirely in a death bed flash back? You'll understand why I'm not very excited. Maybe they could thrown in quick time events and really get this stealth game to sink into obscurity.
Cyro @ May 14th 2008 1:44PM
No. You are not excited because its not coming out for the PS3.
Trev @ May 14th 2008 2:52PM
1/10 for ignorant trolling, Cyro. Why don't you just grow up? I can get this on any of the available platforms.
