Infinite Line RPG announced for DS

Infinite Line director Hifumi Kouno of Nudemaker showed up at last night's Platinum Games event (fully clothed, to our surprise) to debut the studio's forthcoming sci-fi RPG for DS. The game is built around two key concepts: Players command (1) a "highly-customizable" spaceship through (2) a "large and expansive" world that encompasses two galaxies. The team has prepared over 150 ship models, as well as more than 150 potential crew members that can be stationed around the ships. The insides of the crafts are modular, so players can place the bridges, engineering rooms, fire control rooms, etc. as they see fit.
As per The Space Opera Mandate® of 1941, Infinite Line will explore "what it means to be human" in this touching adventure around the stars. Nudemaker plans to show off some actual screenshots -- that will apparently "blow you away" -- in the near future.

This actually sounds pretty great, also very large in scope for a hand-held RPG.

Haven't really had an interest in RPGs since my PS1 days, but I'm really starting to love playing them again on my DS. FF3 and the World Ends With You were both very satisfying, this looks just as interesting.

I'll be keeping an eye on this one...
It's games like this that make me glad to be a gamer. Maybe this might get me back into the RPG genre again (I'm starved of them)

Looks like something from Ikaruga mashed together with Ghost in the Shell SAC tech. Sounds neat!

this is the first game for DS that i will admit sounds really cool. i wonder if there's a similar flash game anywhere out there on the interwebs where i can get a taste of space warship building.......

I just think they're trying to crank up the hypemeter: of course concept art looks beautiful, as long as you don't get to see DS screenshots yet.

I haven't seen a space RPG on a console in some time. This may be interesting. I actually hope they throw in some space trading. It'll mean there's less chance for a linear experience, which absolutely sucks in space.
