with those features i wouldn't mind buy a rock band 2 this year but the dlc would have to carry over or that would be a big slap in the face.

Not only that, but I would also want access to play the current songs in the new version (whether it is by free download if you have the original, or it rips them off the original disc...)

That is a big concern for me all the music i downloaded for the first needs to be copied over by a patch or something it doesn't have to have the features that rb2 will have but just as an extra for multi-player.

- DLC from RB would need to carry over to RB2.
- Instruments from RB one would have to able to be used in RB2.
- No introduction of some "new" instrument that really makes it so you "need" to get a full package again.
- RB2 sold by itself

The thing is though...I think RB is great..and a lot of fun. They could just continue doing some things through DLC and be just fine. But of course, making RB2 is just making more money and when it comes to EA, that is all they want!

didn't you guys post a story a while back saying that they weren't going to do a sequel, but instead support Rock Band through DLC ?

Like Harmonix says, it's about the music. So, I agree that every song needs to carry over. What I hated most about Guitar Hero was having to switch out discs to play my favorite songs. I'd be just fine sticking to downloads and not having to purchase a new disc. How about downloadable expansions? But, yes, as Deck mentioned, EA wants the cash.

First of all calm the down. It's just a survey. It's very likely that Rock Band 2 is coming out holiday '09.

A two year development cycle is reasonable don't you think? When do you want Harmonix to start doing research for Rock Band 2? A month before the game is supposed to come out?

Just take a deep breath and think about. If it wasn't for the internet you won't know about shit until it was already in the store. But when you do get early info you freak out and jump to conclusions.

off point but, that show is called "Family Fortunes" in the UK and was hosted by Les Dennis for ages.
(if you don't know who he is, your not missing anything, but he was in Extras and got butt naked in front of Gervais)

I think it would be awesome to add a new instrument to rock band 2 like, a keyboard or something so it could be more enjoyable because I mean the usb hub can hook up four instruments and you can plug in one more into the xbox. Plus another thing would be a mode where you can make your own music.
