Sony unveils first-party PSP and PS3 release list

Although this information has been reported on in one form or another, here's the condensed list of Sony's first-party titles coming out for PSP and PS3 in the foreseeable future:

wipEout HD (PSN) -- Summer 2008

SOCOM: US Navy SEALs Confrontation (PS3) -- September 16, 2008
LittleBigPlanet (PS3) -- October 2008
NBA 09 (PS3, PSP, PS2) -- Fall 2008
BUZZ! Quiz TV (PS3) -- Fall 2008
BUZZ! Master Quiz (PSP) -- Fall 2008
MotorStorm Pacific Rift (PS3) -- Fall 2008
Resistance 2 (PS3) -- Fall 2008
Killzone 2 (PS3) -- February 2009

Dates, titles and everything else are subject to change without warning. If it's LittleBigPlanet though, you'll probably hear quite a bit of whining from us first.

Wipeout HD is looking to be a whole lot of fun.

Those are nice games too(except for NG. Can't say I'm a fan of the series past NGII on NES).

Do some research on hands on previews of Too Human. I've been reading some "meh" comments. NG2 zzzzzzz. Gears 2 is really the only reason I still have my(4th) 360.

This is a list of FIRST PARTY GAMES ONLY, not counting all the 3rd party exclusives and multiplat games.

The hilarious thing is the 3 games you mentioned are not even 1st party games.

Killzone = winter release. (Look at your calendar for February then read farmer’s almanac to understand seasons)

Other titles listed are 1st party only, so there are other games too.

Also, Resistance 2 & LBP both look like fun titles to me.

Hmmm, a 360 fanboy unexcited about a Sony list, how original.

And Too Human, common, that game looks average at best. But both GOW2 and NG2 are day ones for me.

As well as Wipeout HD, LBP, Resistance 2, and Motorstorm.

Another great year for gaming. Add in the good Square linup of portable RPG's, and I'm rolling in the goodness.

Except those games you named were all 3rd Party.

They are ALL being published by Microsoft Game Studios.

I agree. Kind of Meh, I was just looking at the non-handheld list and only looked at the 2008 titles and read the following:

Personally, I am not hugely into racing games but do enjoy FPSs. Socom looks not-bad, but, I never played the first one due to being more of a pc gamer for FPSs, ie played bioshock on the pc rather than console.

Resistance 2 should be ok but after having played all three episodes of HL2 recently and the original resistance, I am not that enthusiastic yet.

Buzz! quiz tv? ...what an exclusive to have for the casual gamer crowd? LBP? maybe... and thats it? Wait? Where are the big-guns? The system-sellers?

I hope blu-ray machine player purposes helps keep selling ps3s through x-mas.

PSN has some good looking titles this summer. I'm all over Wipeout HD on day 1.

Indeed, Sir. Not to mention how psyched I am for Motorstorm: PR and other speed-based games. Also: KZ2...things are finally looking better for ye olde PS3, mine just got dusted off yesterday when Uncharted arrived. I think this year will really turn things around for the big S.

You need to let me know what PS3 games you crank on, mang. I'm starting to end my single player focus, getting back into multi.

I don't know. It seems like Sony is blowing a bit too much of it's wad this year leaving nothing beyond. Many of the uber hyped yet mysterious titles like Getaway, Eight Days, Heavy Rain, and more are noticably absent from the public eye. I don't think PS3 can take second place in the long run, but I do think they did a hell of a lot better than many were giving them credit for. I think PS3 has a chance of being the Dreamcast or Saturn of this generation. Not quite first place but well respected among hardcore gamer circles. Of course this is based on my circle of friends in real life where I went from being "the idiot who actually bought that piece of shit" to converting people left and right. Of my close friends (once again, in real life), only three have 360s (and they cannot wait for the Jaspers to arrive because they miss slaughtering me in Halo 2). Most of the others have PS3s.

Do I think Sony's going to make a full recovery? Nope. But watching Sony get the every loving shit kicked out of them and watching their actions over these past two years has taught me that they learned from many of their mistakes.

Good, cos if they were to continue that cocky attitude they had in the first place, PS3 would have stopped selling a year ago, due to the fact nobody was buying.

Well if I wanted to go about the list wars, I would have (notmally it insights other list wars... as shown in this thread). Hopefully having to finally wring my greasy fingers around that wonderful White Knight Story is one of MY personal highlights of 2009...

Siren looks pretty damn creepy, first time I've heard of it though. I'll gladly get that even though I don't particularly enjoy playing games that make me jump all the time, but it just looks too damn good to pass up

As a PSP owner nothing there is tickling my cheeks. Except thats the US list and us Yurpeens have that special Crisis Core coming out next month yawoo. And then Smash Bros so it doesn't really matter what else comes out in the next 3 years.
