Today in Joystiq: May 16, 2008
If you think this is nifty, think again. We took a shower with the same water source. It was the slowest, most painful blockade (pun intended) of blue pixels. And it didn't even clean! (Via FFFound; thanks, Chelsea) Check out the highlights for today:

But it isn't a pun. Blockade... I do not think the word means what you think it means. It makes no sense in the way you used it.
Puns have to make sense. This has the word "block," but doesn't really work. You can argue that you're playing with words and giving them new meaning, but it's not a pun.
colin @ May 17th 2008 1:19AM
i kinda agree, its a stretch, but i think it can still be called pun.
A pun (or paronomasia) is a phrase that deliberately exploits confusion between similar-sounding words for humorous or rhetorical effect.
a blockade is something that hinders the passage, progress, or accomplishment of by or as if by interposing an obstruction.
so he could have been blocked from taking a successful shower by these pixels, and the pixels acted as a blockade.
its ambiguous at best though.
BlaqueBeird @ May 17th 2008 2:49AM
Phew, colin. Glad you explained to the world what a pun and a blockade are. That was close. There was a second there where people weren't completely serious buzz-kills, but you eliminated that once and for all. Well played.

WOW! Finally.... Someone decided to do "game art" that's NOT Super Mario Bros., for a change!
Color me impressed.
