When you think about Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3, it's not instantaneous to associate the title with our beloved console, the PlayStation 3. The series is strongly rooted in the PC realm; however, that doesn't mean we're not excited. We're certainly looking forward to seeing this game -- especially after having a taste test of last night's debut footage.
The game looks amazingly beautiful. Make sure you see it in HD glory. While the game looks great, we're pretty sure the PC version is on display here and not PS3. Anyway, our version should be visually on par. Also interesting, it looks like the game has a new possible release date: October 2008.
Not at all, unless you're talking about the (always annoying) voices. The sounds were fantastic, esp. liked the flak. Will pick up for the PC, assuming EA doesn't eff that up.
I agree with Josh here, I still play RA2 from time to time after what? 8 years? and I recognized the sound effects immediately. Oh and the song too. Can't wait for some C&C console style. RA2:Retaliation on PS1 didn't get the best reviews but I personally loved it.
The sounds are EXACTLY the same. Still don't know if that's good or bad. Graphics look great and I LOVED Red Alert 1 and 2 so I'm sure I'll love this. I'll be going with the PC version though.
What nobody seems to be picking up on is that the units and bases and such, no longer have any kind of life meter. How are you supposed to know how much life they have left?!
Just because they don't show them in the picture doesn't mean they aren't there because you can turn them on and off in almost every RTS and not to mention with beautiful graphics like that, i wouldn't want an ugly A$$ Bar get in the way of a demostration. Think Common Sense.
I'll probably end up getting this for the PC. Unless I can find an affordable bluetooth mouse/keyboard combo... it'd be nice playing it on a big screen. Anyone own a BT mouse for the ps3?
I don't know about the 360, but I do know that the PS3 supports plug n' play mouse and keyboard. I think that amonst the console versions this will be a major selling point. I have a spare usb keyboard and wireless mouse I bought from my brother, thats how I'm going to play this game (provided that such support is offered, which it most likely will).
This is HUGE news for me -- does anybody have a link to confirm? I mean, I got Tiberium Wars for PC because I already had LotR 2 for 360, and wasn't crazy about the control scheme (and understood that CnC TW was going to use the same layout). But it runs kind of crappy, and is a bit buggy, and won't run at all on my second PC so I couldn't play it with my wife. She *adores* RA2, so if I can actually get 2 copies of RA3 going with keyboard and mouse, I will buy in a heartbeat.
Does anybody know if there will be cross-platform multiplayer? I have one "gaming" PC, one 360, and one PS3 -- it would be great if I could buy two copies of RA3 without having to shell out for more hardware. I might anyway, though -- being able to do multiplayer CnC again would be worth it to me.
i dont have it...yet. But a friend of mine have it, and it is just a pearl. I have never ever done so many headshots in warhawk, it became very easy...And...very like a PC!!!
