We'd be hard-pressed to disagree, as the humorous endings (spoilers ... sort of) serve as a much needed counterbalance to the disturbing, soul-shattering imagery that the series is known for. Oh, and Yamaoka's favorite entry in the series? Silent Hill 2 (ahem ... duh). Check out the full interview after the break.
Funny endings return for Silent Hill: Homecoming
10
Speaking to GameTrailers, Silent Hill: Homecoming producer and composer Akira Yamaoka has revealed that funny endings will be returning in upcoming Double Helix (formerly The Collective) take on the series. When asked about what elements from previous games would be returning in Homecoming, Yamaoka said (through a translator), "I think humor is important. A lot of Silent Hill fans enjoy different endings, like the UFO ending, the dog ending, right? Those funny endings are an important part of Silent Hill."

Is this the same Double Helix that helped make Decline of Video Gaming? That would be awesome.

And for the record, SH 2 was the best..although many would disagree with me I find. (Being that it was it's own story, unconnected to the SH 1 and 3 storylines.)

My favorite Silent Hill game is Silent Hill 2.The story, atmosphere, music well the whole setting and character development is just amazing, it was really a triumph in videogame history since is a game that was great for its artistic and story direction instead of gameplay.
With that said I have to mention that even if SH2 was the favorite title of the series the definitive Silent Hill title is of course Silent Hill. It was dark and creepy with a lot of great details.
I’m really looking forward to this game.
My favorite Ufo ending was the one in Silent Hill:0 say what you want of Sh:0 but that ending was brilliant.

From the video that they posted not to long ago it still seems to me that they have quite a bit of work do to...
If this western team fucks up on Homecoming then I am going to be beyond pissed...

Honestly, all I've seen looks almost exactly the same as the others in terms of atmosphere. The story seems to be handled by Konami in Japan and obviously they have the ultimate approval on anything. I've not seen much that makes me feel like this is some huge departure or a major screw up yet.
Personally, I wasn't exactly blown away by The Room anyway, so if this one is somehow worse than this I guess it's just keeping up with the trend lol.

Silent Hill 1 and 2 were great, imho. But this game... I dunno. I suppose if it's handled right, it could be better than the last one. But something tells me it might be the worst. We'll just have to wait and see. I'm hoping it's great though! =)

Maybe flip the photo so that the American flag is in its due position? Just a thought.
