Haze dating game video makes us uncomfortable
The video, a mock dating game between UK Fragdoll Kitt and a pair of devs fresh off Ubisoft's nectar-filled shooter, is a stern reminder that just because you can do something doesn't necessarily mean you should.

Haze keeps trying these 'amusing' things ... is the story line of the game supposed to be humorous?
Demaar @ May 19th 2008 9:52PM
No, it's not. That's what makes it all the more jarring. What the hell is wrong with Ubisoft... and I guess Free Radical too, since they're going along with this crap.
severian00 @ May 19th 2008 10:44PM
I'm really glad you asked that question, baby.
mike shea @ May 19th 2008 8:44PM
second!
...and to that, no care! :)
HB96st @ May 19th 2008 8:45PM
I used to like FR... But sorry, that game looks sorry... I hope for their sakes it stays exclusive. Because I wont buy it if it comes to the 360.
Another game hyped up by the sfd, another game way below standards... Well, ya'll can take that off the "Well we have-" list.
The sad thing is it would've sold on the 360 if it drop on that first...
But now...

Haze: WGOTY.
=p
A person @ May 19th 2008 9:10PM
I'm sure that "award" could go to plenty of Wii shovelware "games".
John McPoop @ May 19th 2008 9:18PM
I think Wii cheerleading is a shoe in for GOTY
BananaBoat @ May 19th 2008 10:26PM
I was semi-excited for Haze before the demo. After? Meh. I still haven't bought Smash Brothers, and MGS4 is coming soon. Not to mention Ninja Gaiden 2. With only so many banana dollars to spend on games (well, only so much that I can justify to myself), Haze doesn't stand a snowballs chance in hell.
Oh and this vid managed to take my already low impression of the Frag Dolls, and drop it even further. Not to mention my impression of Free Radical.
Vidikron (FU) @ May 19th 2008 11:02PM
@banana
Save your money on SSB. An already lame fighter got even worse.
BananaBoat @ May 20th 2008 9:44AM
Yeah, I've heard that it's not as good as prior games in the series. I might gamefly it first, and then if I don't love it, I might buy the Metal Gear Box set instead (the one with all 3 MGS games, for 30 bucks).
Baineblade @ May 19th 2008 8:48PM
Painful...that's all that goes through my head after watching that...
Herby @ May 19th 2008 8:51PM
This developer guy from Free Radical wants to be famous so bad it hurts. I mean the first video over a year ago was funny but after that every single one is more uninteresting garbage than the next.
Damn I am angry.
Nutchos @ May 19th 2008 8:54PM
So you throw glow sticks at people in this game?
Chris @ May 19th 2008 8:54PM
I played the demo for the first time last night- honestly it wasn't that great. There are some creative aspects to it, but it just doesn't have that push that really makes me want to buy it. Ironically the demo persuaded me to NOT purchase it.
Fernando Rocker @ May 19th 2008 8:56PM
The dancing parrot is a lot more funnier than that.

I actually like to see the video...
=p
ScottyGEE @ May 19th 2008 9:00PM
I couldn't watch it all. I'm up for interesting ways of promotion but this is silly. So if I play and understand haze, I can pick up women(z)?
PS: timesplitters 4(or is it 5?) kthx.
ugg.tryptophan @ May 19th 2008 9:18PM
the frag doll is fugly
Mr.ESC @ May 19th 2008 10:56PM
Well it seems most people here think the exact opposite.
My feeling for this video are well a mix of pain with well Um...how do you call this feeling were you feel deeply ashamed by other people actions? (In Spanish is Vergüenza Ajena)
Mr.ESC @ May 19th 2008 11:07PM
I meant feelings.
Mischa @ May 20th 2008 1:30AM
Mr.Esc, the word is "horny" in English.
Sean Newton @ May 20th 2008 4:27PM
Fuggly by celebrity standards (which she isn't, so she shouldn't be judged by), sure.
But for a girl off the street, she's not bad. She won't cause any traffic accidents, but she's certainly not below average.
ugg.tryptophan @ May 20th 2008 4:48PM
not really; and by celebrity standards sarah jessica parker is cover-of-vogue-worthy, so i'll stick to my preferences
DaveC @ May 19th 2008 9:24PM
Rob's face. Classic lmao.
John McPoop @ May 19th 2008 9:24PM
Well I still might pick up the game at some point if the reviews keep looking favorable ... The game was nice looking in terms of models and the gameplay was fun but the level sucked in the demo ... I would love to play some driving or multiplayer death match ... I will probably give it a whirl after MGS 4
If people think it sucks then so be it ... I like Lair and Heavenly Sword which the Joystiq crowd seems to think were awful ... But I hated Halo 3 for multiplayer single player was OK ... Thats the beauty of it we can all buy and play what we like best
Atr-Slzr-Ctr @ May 19th 2008 9:28PM
... Sniper Wolf...
Cyro @ May 19th 2008 10:10PM
I really don't know what they thought they would achieve with this?!
*Face to Palms*
boxmyth @ May 19th 2008 10:36PM
I'd rather they curb-stomped a kitten to advertise.
That was simply horrid.
Vidikron (FU) @ May 19th 2008 10:58PM
I actually kind of liked that video. A bit too slow paced, but it does do a decent job of describing difference aspects of the game. Or maybe I should just get on the sheep filled Haze-hating bandwagon?
Mr.ESC @ May 19th 2008 11:05PM
It was um different like when a Midget drops his pants and slaps an old lady with a fish except most parts were completely annoying.
Well it was entertaining but I rather have a gameplay video or an interview also that the multiplayer mode sounds completely broken.
“Okay Nectar can help the player to get cheap headshots, anticipate the enemy movement, show the enemy and bitch slap with the might of a thousand wife-beaters (Funny word) combined into one fist.
“But the rebels get sneak attacks!”
Oh yeah that sounds completely balanced *Rolls eyes,
Vidikron (FU) @ May 19th 2008 11:13PM
It may or may not be... you certainly can't say at this point. The rebels do get more than you make it out to be. The ability to overdose the soldiers is huge... which you would know if you've played the demo. OD on nectar and your character goes crazy... you can't see shit and yoru character is nearly impossible to control.
Arturo @ May 19th 2008 11:14PM
i think kitt was the best part of that whole thing
Cronjob @ May 19th 2008 11:24PM
Other than the fragdolls, does anyone care about the fragdolls?
ugg.tryptophan @ May 20th 2008 2:38AM
no
mcatrage @ May 19th 2008 11:33PM
Any game that uses a girl gamer "team" to get attention obviously isn't any good.
Vidikron (FU) @ May 19th 2008 11:40PM
I think they've promoted a lot of games. For example, this Friday they will be on Live playing R6LV2. It's your point obviously isn't any good.
Misfit Toy @ May 19th 2008 11:39PM
I JUST played the demo for this game. Finally decided to download and try it. The thing about demos is that I usually enjoy the game a lot more than a demo. So, I'm still giving this game a shot beyond what I've played.
What I did play was good, a little tricky to master, but then again I only played for about 10 minutes (that's how long the demo was), and I'm used to FPSs on the 360. Comparing this to Resistance, the only other FPS worth noting on the PS3 right now, I say this game is faster and has a little bit more personality. Though, for some, faster isn't better. Halo is a great game, but was slower than this. Depends on your taste.
This is easily a rental for me. I reserve on saying its a must buy though. Multiplayer doesn't interest me so much as a good story.
Vidikron (FU) @ May 19th 2008 11:41PM
That's similar to my feelings, though from what I've seen of Haze I'd still easily pick Resistance. Right now I think I'm going to Gamefly Haze. I enjoyed playing co-op on the demo so I'll likely just rent and finish the game on co-op.
Misfit Toy @ May 19th 2008 11:42PM
I should state...what I meant was the only other "exclusive" FPS worth mentioning. Games such as Rainbow Six Vegas 2 are very good, but can be played on other systems.
Atr-Slzr-Ctr @ May 19th 2008 11:44PM
Good Lord! Did that Fatass bastard actually know the mirrors!? What the hell he thinks he is!?! a Playboy!?
WUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA .... NO! SHUT UP ANNOYING DORK! >:(
Duhigitive @ May 20th 2008 12:47AM
"It's got the power of a thousand wife beaters..."
"Wanna go out on a date?"
LOL!!!!
Phizzy @ May 20th 2008 6:11AM
The 'that's gay' at the end made me giggle. My favourite part was:
"Do you like eating?"
"I do!"
"I like eating. GOODBYE."
Rob Yescombe always makes me laugh. I hope we can get married some day.
Maverick Saturn @ May 20th 2008 6:47AM
Haze is just being used as a game to fill the delay gap of Timesplitters 4.
like Prologue is for GT5.
Saying that, its not perfect or original, but it could be fun to play depending on what you like in a game.
Saying that, its not like all the console don't have a bucket load of crap games to go with the good ones ¬_¬
Paul @ May 20th 2008 1:04PM
It was the script writer who took it to new levels of face palm; the other two were fine within this already dumb idea. He is certainly not someone I would want as my lead writer... At the very least wit is certainly not his strength, is it?
"Hey baby, I'm glad you asked me that question".
The demo was really poor; while the gameplay and game-feel was nice, the level design was abysmal, stupidly short and had terribly writing, and acting.
Dralthi @ May 20th 2008 11:40AM
I stopped watching this after about 60 seconds.
Who approves this crap? This doesn't raise my interest in this game at all! The sound quality was horrible too.
That screenwriter dude, Rob, scares the crap out of me as well. I saw him in a different Haze developer video on GT and he was carrying on like an angry drunken Brit in front of the camera.
Jared @ May 20th 2008 4:18PM
...that was the worst video I've ever seen.
Nando @ May 20th 2008 9:58PM
i actually found it funny
