Though Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots may be the end of the line for Solid Snake, fans can rest assured that it won't be the last game they see with "Metal Gear" in the title. Speaking to MTV Multiplayer, associate producer Ryan Payton delivered the shocking revelation that a popular franchise would continue in the future. "I think there's been some misconceptions that this is the last 'Metal Gear,'"he said. "This is really just the last chapter of the saga of the Solid Snake story."

With Solid out of the way, what does the future hold for tactical espionage action? Metal Gear Meryl, the sneak-em-up with a softer touch? Or how about Metal Gear Soylent, the made-from-people masterpiece? Give us a clue, Ryan ... Ryan? RYAAAAAAAAAN!!

Not a big fan either, but I'm sure it's going to be a great game. I'm on the fence between MGS4 and NG2 for my June game purchase. I'd better get some playable demos for both games.

MGS to me always felt more like an interactive movie with crappy shooting mechanics then a real stealth/action game. But that's just me.

Well as a fan I must say Metal gear series are awesome but well there are some details that make me uncomfortable for example Otacon's family relationship was effing weird (MGS2).

If you ask me every Metal gear game is great in its own rights even Ac!D was great so far my complains about MG are:

1-No quick load or way to go to the main menu and this is vital for a game were screwing up is so easy.

2-In Metal gear Solid 3 the shadows and graphics get in the way, sometimes things are way to blurry. You need to play MGS 3 in a regular tv since is impossible to see what is going on in a HDTV even if you adjust the screen.

3-The movement of the crosshair in the first person mode isn’t fluid enough.

Other than those everything is great. I would love to see another Metal Gear AC!D game I loved MGA2.

This game is just hype and because of the twists and turns that are worthy of a hollywood blockbuster.

probably not, considering... there are what.. around six or seven (if you include mario and sonic) mario games on the Wii alone

as for metal gear, there have been seven proper games MG1 and 2 MGS1+2+3+4 and MGSPO aswell as a few re-releases...
